Yeah I know golds in venice beach is famous for all the huge guys who hang there, but WTF a gym is a gym no matter where or how you stack it. I'd lift in any gym that had good equipment, famous doesn't count with me. I live in SoCal and couldn't justify the trip and I live here, so why bother? It's not a big tourist attraction, unless you just want to brag about working out there to all your buddies....No flame intended at all. IP: Logged |

No, it wasn't taken as a flame. I just wasn't aware of any other places to train, I just wanted to see if I could find someone who wanted to train with me while I was out in the area, since I don't like training alone, and I don't know the area. IP: Logged |

golds venice is alright if you want to go and see pros, thats about it. there are quite a few "california" people there. ie, people who live in their bubble. funny to watch them though. i could train in a cave if the music was right so it didnt strike me as special. i havent been there in a few years but going up there to eat at the local restaurants is always cool. mad food! huge portions! I've worked out at Venice a few times, I think it is around 3bucks to work out for the whole day. Definitley worth it if you have the time. IP: Logged |

I'll tell you about Muscle Beach. It's one big rust bucket. No flame to those who work out there and like it, but everything is old, stiff, rickety, and rusty. If you just want to workout outside and have people gawk at you, then you'll love it, otherwise you probably won't even get a good workout. IP: Logged |

My favorite gyms have always been shit holes. Its more about tha poeple there. The first gym I belonged to we built the equipment, welder saw and angle iron. Wanta squart rack - make it, vert-leg press and so on. Wanta spit, pick a spot. IP: Logged |
