I have heard bad things about it,like risk of infection, lack of skill of the surgeon, complications, one woman died because of bleeding to death from the proceedure here in California, so I advise the natural process, your health is too importent to risk. Granted the one death was caused by a bad Dr who was not qualified do it, but check his credentials carefully before deciding if you do. By the way, check my last post on Major sin...It's behind me now. [This message has been edited by Rich1 (edited May 06, 2000).] IP: Logged |

Ask for a video of the process. I don't think you will do it after you see what they do to you. It leaves some scares also. It would have to be my last resort. [This message has been edited by Cleaner (edited May 06, 2000).] IP: Logged |

My neighbor had it. Cost $5000.00 for 5 lbs of fat from around her waist. Was in pain for about 4 days, had to wear an elastic body wrap for 1 month. The funniest thing is she hated to excersise, got skinny and did not change her diet of wine, cookies, and pizza. Now she has gained 25 lbs on her 5'1" body and guess where it all is? ON HER ASS! Skinny waist and fat ass that skicks out like two large pumpkins. So now what is she talking about? Thats right! lipo on her ass. I think she ought to get breast implants to even her body up. At least she could keep her balance. IP: Logged |

Sorry thiassi, Cost is not an issue here. You heard that old saying "You get what you pay for", although some did look good, I wouldn't have sugery where they tell ya not to drink the water. Thanks. IP: Logged |

RedHot, I have heard that it is somewhat dangerous of a procedure. I know that it only is in the news when it goes wrong, and you never hear about the successful ones. Also, consider this: if you have fat cells removed from your body, your body has to adjust. It is accustomed to having fat there, and as such will not quickly adjust to the sudden removal. It will try to replace the fat with, you got it, more fat, to restore your body to what it is used to. The body doesn't quickly adjust to the change. That is the reason that liposuction often is not permanent..... Just a few thoughts, Matt IP: Logged |

hello guys, i dont post on elite much ,but figured i would since ive got plenty of time on my hands tonight and just had lipo performed. Why did i have it done? simple, i have problem areas that will not go away no matter how lean i get. i have always had an area of fat on my chest as well as the problem areas most males have. My reason for having lipo was, i understood it. most of what im seeing here so far is stuff you guys have heard about. once you do some research, you will find that it is a very safe procedue and is PERMANENT to the areas you have done. yes, some believe that fat cell hyperplasia (new cell growth)is possible, but it is not very common at all. your body has a certain amount of fat cells in it after the puberty area of life. those cells can either shrink to 1/2 the size or double in size depending on your diet. if you only have problem areas, then lipo is for you as it will rid them forever! now, if you are a big fat ass, with fat problems all over, then it is not for you. the reason is, as someone else said, the body will try to adjust for the missing adiopse tissue and will begin to increase slightly the other fatty areas. now how sever is this? it really is not a big deal. much of the fat your body decides to use for this pupose is your intermuscular fat. all that will do is make you look like you have bigger muscle, not too bad. Yes, if you get totally out of control, then you can end up with other areas getting worse, but they would get worse anyway! The reason the guys woman friend now has a big ass is because she had a problem area on her ass. it is a good idea to get all the problem areas removed at once, but there is a legal limit, so like i said before you cant be too bad off to begin with. now, this whole body readjusting thing brings another point. you are VERY anabolic at this adjusting stage. your body is still releasing insulin for the tissue you have removed and this will make it very benificial to go on a cycle at this time. the gains from this type of cycle will be mostly permanent(20lbs or so). After the surgery is not very painful, you feel sloppy as you are swollen. you will have to wear an elastic binder for two weeks afterwards as well. the swelling will get worse after a couple days, then begin to go down. once three months has passed, you will look like you will forever. i am very happy with it this far, and i am only 5 days into recovery. As far as getting what you pay for, that is not true with this procedure. i went to a dr in the city i live in, for the three areas i wanted done he was going to charge me $9000!! I then talked to a guy i know who had it done about 400 miles from where i live. i talked to his dr, the price was $2500. MUCH BETTER! both drs had the same credits, the first one was just a yuppie who wanted all of my money. The dr i went to also has a much better outlook on medicine and made sure i got my moneys worth. i was very happy with how i was treated there. so, price isnt everything. if anyone has any questions for me, feel free to e mail me.. I am definitely considering this to remove problem areas. I think that in the long run it would be less expensive than all of the T-3/Clen/ECA/DNP/Cardio/Dieting mentally, finacially, and long-term health wise. Puc IP: Logged |
