I work with industrial lasers that cut metals, they are very powerful machine tools. Surgical lasers are toys compared to the multikilo watt units I work with,my understanding on the subject being tied into your skin type and pigmentation and the amount ink they are trying to remove, most surgical lasers are 25 watts or less, it would be like a bad sunburn for about a week, and might require more then one treatment. Hope thats helpful info.

My father had tatoos removed. Got like 7 letters removed form his arm, had to go for a couple treatments but you would never know it was there. Something bigger might leave a little scar, but I think it would be very subtle.
