ok i did something really stupid. i got caught plagerising a paper and i got flunked in my class. see im a college student and this is a serious offennse. now my gpa might not be good enough to come back. how do i tell my parents, is there any ideas, something i could tell them, dammit it was only 12 lines of text, im so scard, i killed my whole acedemic career, my parents r gonna make me come home and work, any ideas please help, im seriously desperate HELP!!!!!!!, IM SUCH A JACKASS

we've all done a little plagerising in our lives, right? what ya should do is very clear.....LIE!!!!!!! Lie your ass off until you're out of deep shit. But before you get into the major lies (my specialty:-)), try telling whoever your dealing with that you meant to quote the lines and forgot to put quotation marks or whatever to show that you meant to quote it. If that don't work find out some dirt on the dean or whoever and use it as blackmail. And if ya get busted for blackmail, run. Run like a bitch and deny everything on your way out and say it was a joke. Stay in hiding for about a month and hope it blows over. Sorry I can't help ya with the major lies cause I don't know the situation. Good luck.

well if your parents went to college then they did the same thing. I would just tell them this is what happend and I screwed up. That is all they want to hear. Show them what you did on the paper and everything. Tell them you where just tired and ran out of things to write. Say man i fell like shit now and i dont know what to do.......that is all they want to hear, trust me.....

Awe shit bro, I cant believe you got caught, my roommate used a bunch of completely written papers online and turned em in for grades and never got caught...... how did you manage that...I mean did you take them off of some classic book or one of your texts?

Well anyways, DAMN I still cant believe that bro, that could be your entire college career down the shitter....
SUGGESTION: if it was only twelve lines though, then when you go in front of the academic board or council or whatever (including parents) then just lie and tell them that you meant to go back and quote it right after you had finished writing the paper, and that the reason you were going to do it that way was because it was very late at night and you were in a hurry to finish the paper so you didnt want to lose your train of thought on what you wanted to say, and that after you had finished writing the paper you were exhausted and forgot all about the quote and printed it out and immediately went to sleep. As long as no one who is accusing you knows when you typed it or when you printed it out and as long as anyone who does know when you did it follows your same story then I think you might just be able to pull this shit off....make sure your roommate or some other witness verifies your story that it was very very late when you were writing the paper (like 6 AM or something) and I mean only if they ask for any witnesses. Just stick with this story at all times and to everyone (parents, professors, TAs, friends, everyone.....leave no loose ends unless absolutely necessary). And dont forget to say that you finished the paper the morning it was due and thats why you were in such a hurry. This is my suggestion and its exactly what I would do if I was in your situation.... take care bro

That really sucks, I will be honest with you and say that I plagerized my way through college. The only way I hid it was to use alot of quotation marks. I still would make a C on the paper because I used too many quotes. I can't believe you got caught, that's hard to do. Like the previous post said, LIE. Keep lieing until you convince the teacher and the disciplinary board to just give you a D in the class. Good luck bro.

if your school has an honor code or you're going in front of a disciplinary board, then i'd do exactly as everyone else says...lie.

however, it sounds like the problem is that this F is gonna' sink your GPA too low to continue. if that's the case, then you've got to do two things: first, appeal to the professor for another chance...be emotional, cry if you have to...that shit works (i'll deny that that's from personal experience .
secondly, i'm sure you're takin' 12 or 15 hours and there's still time in the semester to get your other grades up. bust your fuckin' ass for one month and it can make a difference in the rest of your life. you gotta' want it. no excuses.

How did you get caught doing that?! You must have copied from a book your Prof. wrote or something. What you should have done was make up some BS book titles you got your info from in your Bibliography. Once the Prof. sees all these titles they are unfamiliar with, they won't bother to go out and look for them. At least that's how I got by. ( I just told on myself....oops!)
