I'm moving to the area soon and need to find a gym. I checked out the Prairie Life Center a while ago. Any recommendations on local gyms? IP: Logged |

Hello from Overland Park. If your moving to the area here are some good gyms: Bally's at 103/Metcalf - great equipment, nice scenery (pretty women) terrible atmosphere for the hardcore. Golds Gym Independence - Limited equipment, best atmosphere for competing bodybuilders. Total body & fitness Olathe - Good equipment, good atmosphere for bodybuilders. Prarie life is the only gym I havent trained at in the area. Ive heard the equipment is great. See you at the Powershack and Mr. Missouri!! IP: Logged |

There's one out by the airport called Olympus Gym.....it was ok....I train at Bally Independence....Gold's Westport is better then Independence. Never been to Olathe gym ....There is also a 24 hour down in Market Place, they were handing out flyers at the show last year...heard that was nice...also expensive. IP: Logged |

The Ballys at Hilltop out off 87thst exit off 435N is a nice gym if you like plenty of space and more machines than you'd ever want. The free weights are in the far back, but theres plenty of room. Lot of free weight and good equipment-need higher weights on dbs though. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the info on the gyms. I also called a few local YMCA's for prices. $76 for a family membership but the Y's are a usually light on equipment. IP: Logged |
