Do you think they test for juice in it? Wouldn't that be an unfair advantage for the juice-user? Some of those guys I know are using (Shamrock and Coleman are a couple). Just wanted to see what you guys thought. IP: Logged |

I doubt they test, i think they should give them all HALO,RALGRO,ABOMBS- then let them go kill each other. eye gouges should be allowed also!! Just my opinion i could be wrong. LATER ------------------ IP: Logged |

There is no doubt that most of the top contenders are on juice. It must be hard for natural guys to go against a "Halo head." Jon ------------------ IP: Logged |

I don't know the guys name, but he won it all a couple years ago, I think he may even have won it a couple years straight. Anyway, he's a badass dude, and he's on somethin' for sure. They were interviewing him at his home and he was sittin', with his shirt off, surrounded by all his trophies. He had a raging case of gyno! It was obvious to the trained eye. I saw him fight too...brutal 'bout sums it up! IP: Logged |

I think that the badest Mudafukers in UFC are the wrestlers I know that the wrestlers almost always win it, some of the true wrestler are able to do shit that the average person cant, my old wrestling coach was 53yrl (he was NCAA runner up twice) well this old man could take an apple in his hand and crush it to the pulp in his fist with just one hand or he would stay on the chin-up bar in an up position for a whole practice some times to show us "Mental Tufness" fucking freak!!! Yeah, I believe that they use gear. Did anyone see Shamrock's physique when he defeated Kimo. He was ripped. By the way, when he won it, he was only 215#s One more note: he had a slight case of gyno! [This message has been edited by ruffy (edited March 31, 2000).] IP: Logged |

I trained with Royce Gracie at his academy in Torrance CA, last summer. Royce is a tooth pick... but he had a drive to win that wouldnt let him lose. Not to mention that he has been training in BJJ since he was about 3. Also trained with Mario Sperry and Murilo Bustamante in Vale-Tude. ------------------ IP: Logged |

its getting scarce, but DirecTV stills carries it....... main event in the last one was cancelled so this may cause a stir in the future of the sport as many are trying to get it banned already..... personally, I love the shit, I've bought tons of black mark NHB tapes, best fighting sport out there ! Hmmm, Orbitus..vitor didnt pummel tank brutally...he caught him off with a jab...there hasnt been a brutal jab since the great one. Vitor is a punching machine..impressive yeah..the best no..Randy Cotoure made him look like a bitch.
The gracies were kings..but why dont they compete anymore??? Well because when BJJ hit the states..no one knew of it well, nor could defend against it. Times have changed..and I believe any gracie would be beat at any given time by any one great fighter. I believe most of them juice..I find it hard to believe that SEG is that picky...look at half the fat ass so called fighters they picked up there for awhile. In my opinion..the best fighters out there are from the Lions Den. I believe hands down that Frank Shamrock was the best of the best so far. His technique and power was unmatched..not to mention his cockiness kept it interesting. ------------------ IP: Logged |

OH..BTW.. A-mass the UFC is the Ultimate Fighting Championships. Its no holds barred "reality combat" Save your cash and look for the Brazilian Vale Tudo tapes instead...the rules down there are very limited..and they are real picky about their fighters.. Look for a guy named Marco Ruas. Later Bro, WCP IP: Logged |

I used to watch all of them from II and up. They used to go bare fisted and there were no rules about kicking with foot protection. The matches were basically won when the side threw in the towel, submission, or know out. Very rarely was a match stopped my the ref. I saw a match where a thai kick boxer from Co fought this big Ninjitsu expert. The ninja charge the boxer and the boxer back stepped and ended up sitting on the ninja's chest. Full frontal assault!!! He pounded the ninja's face in, then procedded to smash elbows straight down into his face!!!That on was stopped!! The ninja's face was SMASHED!! That's when I became a fan!! These days the event is banned in most if not every state. My cable stopped carrying it. Satellite is the only way to get it, but the rules have changed. They have to wear gloves(maybe it's not a rule, but everyone does it to protect their hands) They can't kick if they have any kind of foot covering. The ref stops fight whenever they start to get good, and the fights are now timed!! As far as size, this is one arena that it really didn't matter. The Brazilians dominated they earlier ones!! Their grappling tactics were awesome. I watch Royce Gracie choke out a big mother-fucker with his own gi!! shamrock was impressive, but the Gracies were incredible. Marcos Ruas was also great and he was scrawny!!! When in doubt, Choke em' out!!! IP: Logged |

Dahmer... Marco Ruas isn't bulky, but he's not scrawny. He's definately one of those "strong-wirey" guys. He's like 220 and they say he can bench like 410 or so. From the way he threw around some big 350 pounders I have no reason to think it's made up. I've never seen him kick anybody's ass that was really good, though. I have only seen the UFC's, has he kicked any good fighter's asses down in Brazil? Any Gracies? chemdaddy IP: Logged |

Royce Gracie still fights... just not in the UFC, he now fights in the trditional Vale-Tudo fights, (No holds Barred) He feels that the UFC has turned into the WWF with all the BS that goes on there. Plus all the new rules, if anyones familiar with the Japenese "Pride" fights, thats where you'll see the Gracies. They still kick ass and they always will. 30 is not to old to start BJJ... I started Vale-Tudo when I was 22 and BJJ when I was 23. ------------------ IP: Logged |

You opened up a can of worms dude. Yeah, the ultimate fighting championships are good but they're geared for the ground fighters to win. Any martial artist can watch that shit and see where real street techniques that do work are not allowed(no groin shots, no eye pokes, no throat shots, no deliberate bone breakin techniques, no destruction techniques, etc.) so the ground fighters primarily dominate cuz they know where they stand there. I know for sure just one tiger mouth to the throat of any of those guys in UFC and they'll need medical attention fast. IP: Logged |

anytime a grappler gets ahold off a man its going to be a tuff road. Shamrock learn that early. Gracie took his ass to school and how much size is that man giving away. Pound for pound he ruled. He was quick and capialized on mistakes and any martial artist would have his handful. Royce was the man took shamerock a couple trys to beat him. And Coleman is amazing, I hope is in the summer olympic said that was his real goal. Awhile back I was doing some submission wrestling up at the college - we where blasting the shit out of each other. Great thing to do to your friends. NOT! I'll take a grappler over an art any day of the week - your still got to get that punch or kick in and hope it floors the guy and that normally takes a lot. And when the grappler has you tied up in a knot pulling off your arms it sucks. IP: Logged |

Motorhead, I agree that if you take a "stand up fighter" out of his element he is pretty well screwed. However, I wouldnt even consider taking a man to his back in a situation where he has buddies around. Your looking for a boot in the face that way. There are only two planes on which combat occurs...standing and on the ground..unless your special and can fly that is. Being well versed in each of the above is a plus for anyone, for to lack in just one will be your undoing in a real combat situation eventually. later, ------------------ IP: Logged |

Just an opinion. If I could pit two fighters against each other (throughout history of course) I'd pit Bruce Lee against Mas Oyama. Mas faced a bull (as in bullfighting animal) head on without a cape. He threw two shots...the first was a chop that sliced off one of the animal's horns and the other hit it dead between the eyes knocking it unconscious! It wasn't a small bull by any means. I'd have run out of the place screaming, but that dude just cold-cocked the animal. My good friend has the videotaped version of the old film and I must admit, it is an amazing feat of speed and strength. I think it would be a good matchup. IP: Logged |

Tyson would get killed. Did you see Melton Bowen in the third or fourth UFC? He was a pro boxer and he got arm locked rather easily by that out of shape cop. Melton had a pretty good pro boxing record too. True, he was no Mike Tyson, but I just can't see a stand up fighter with no ground experience taking on a professional like Rickson---especially since there's a no biting rule! Hehehe. I even think that Dan Severn could take Tyson, but that's more debatable. IP: Logged |
