I went to get my liscense changed to FL liscense today. In Indiana I held a learners permit for one year and then took the necessary steps to obtain my probationary license. Now here in Florida they claim that I have to wait an additional year to recieve my license. All they gave me was "learners license." Now I have to wait one year from today to take the same tests that I have already passed in Indiana. Is there anyway I can get around this? I think this is such bullshit, I always get screwed over!     | ||

A learners license is evidently equal to a permit becuase you can get one at 15. I had my god damn permit for one year and passed the tests and got my license and now they give me a damn "learners license" | ||

DMV was probably just giving you shit because you're young. Go with your mom or dad and have them raise hell. Did you turn in your out of state operator's license? If not, then just use that for as long as allowed. There is a certain period of time in which you can drive with your old license before needing a new one. I had a probationary operators license which is what all 16 yr olds get. But i held my permit for a yr and passed all the necessary tests to get my licesne. Now they want me to do all this shit again. | ||

did you get your official indiana license? if not, then you should never have tried to get a florida one until you got the indiana one... if you had an indy license, i think they really fucked you over... if you didnt, they are just making you fulfill their requirements and i understand it. | ||

Yes I had an indy license. It was called a "probationary" license. You cannot own an "operators" license in Indiana until 18 but I passed the written and road tests in order to get my licesne. Here in Florida they want me to wait one year from today and then take my written and road exams again to get their license. | ||

Well dude, if you weren't able to get an operator's license in Indy why do you think they would give you one in FL?!?! By the way, it's not 1 year... it's supposed to be 6 months. I think you should call the Florida DPS and have some sort of meeting of the minds....If they don't understand the license differences tell them to call Indy | ||

You are almost 17 and still can't drive. Loser. Just kidding, you should get an INDY drivers license and then take that to Fla. DMV. That way they have to give you the equivilent and not a learners permit. | ||
