What is the big deal? This looks like a Dodge Neon with some ground effects and some rims. Does this thing even hit $20K with options??

not a flame, just trying to understand.

You and I agree on this. I've never gotten the appeal of the entire subaru product line. Over priced mediocre products.

SS, I am thinking of buying one of these or the Legacy Limited come end of summer.

This car was at the Auto Show in the 'burgh last month it is pretty nice & it is $23,000 fully loaded. It is a nice ride for a lady I think. Plus it is AWD.

The Legacy is more like $27-$28 but have many more features, & other stuff.

SUBURAU has the best 4 Wheel drive sedans and compact cars around. The Imprezia is winning rally championships all the time. Or is that just me playing GT2? I cant stop playing GT2 help! It seems so real

See that new Lexus SC? Hot damn!!!

Lexus is taking over the world. The IS is hot, 98% of SUV owners now drive the RX300 and the GS is the nicest luxury car on the market IMO...they've comemrcialized luxury cars.

Infiniti tried to do that by making the G20 affordable but people realized the G20 is so cheap because it's a 4-cylinder piece of shit.

Super,
The WRX starts at $24,500 after destination charge. That comes with a turbo engine delivering the power to all 4 tires. Front and rear power is distributed 50/50 if the need develops.
It hits 0-60 in 5.8 so is that fast enough? That is .3 secnods slower than both a Camaro SS and a Mustang Cobra. The WRX isn't a pure performance car either and it is only a few ticks slower than the "muscle cars". The car can also be driven in the shitiest weather imaginable unlike the Mustang and Camaro who can barely be driven if there is any snow on the ground.
Concerning the looks, Subaru wanted a conservative appearance. Subaru was not trying to impress the average idiot with the styling. They simply built a car that people who know about cars would be impressed with. Oh, last time I checked, there was no Neon with a functional hood scoop.
If it is looks and performance you want than wait til you see the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII that will be coming to the US. The car has the performance capabilities of the WRX with the looks you seem to want. The same looks that will make it a target for thieves.

The new model needs some styling.....I own a silver metallic 98 Subaru Impreza 2.0 GT and I think it's a great car.

Here's some pics of the new model:

2Thick, why are you posting pictures of the new M3? That car costs twice as much and is only a little faster. In an autocross, the WRX would kick the M3's ass.

Also, those are not pics of the new WRX. Those are the WRC, a racing version of the WRX. Remember, the WRX has very conservative styling so it will not get attention.

Yeah, that car is awesome. I wish you could buy a WRX with the same paint scheme that the rally car has. I would be all over that.

I agree with you 100% about the WRX. I think it is one of the best cars on the market for drivers. Nothing tests a car like a rally race!

I just have a life-long hard-on for M3s. I can't help it...

I have a subaru legacy wagon 2000 model, I love the AWD of the car, it sticks like glue to the road, not as fast as my bikes in the corners, but I can almost double the speed limit in most cornering situations.

AWD is the way to go, much safer and more control, the ABS only works in slick conditions so in the wet or ice/snow you must give yourself more distance for safe braking. Other than that I like the car and
wanted one before my last car was totaled by
miscreant. He is going to be sued royally very shortly by my brother and I.

I like the subaru line and I can see why others might be wanting more power, but the
new 2001 outback wagon with the V-6 would be cool.

2Thick, I also like the M3. Hopefully someday I will own one. I actually like that car more but it is out of my affordability.
----
Someone said the Lancer Evo is better. I also agree. The Evo VII is on its way here.
----
Someone said ABS only works in the rain. The answer to that is simple, "wrong".
-------
AWD is generally better but for pure performance it is not worth the added weight and sometimes wheelspin is necesaary.

I forgot to mention. That new V-6 Outback wagon will cost over $30,000. Not worth it in my opinion.
You could have the WRX wagon for $24,000 or an Acura MDX for $35,000. I would get either of those if you were looking for a wagon.
I know the MDX is an SUV but its too awesome to ignore.

The first two is a styled WRX, but the next 3 are the WRC model(WRC styling is available for WRX).

If u are going to buy a WRX, I would wait for the WRX Sti model
