I noticed havoc uses a pretty high quality whey supplement. I've been using the cheap-ass optimum nutrition whey shake for the past 6+ months. It's a 5lb jug for 30 bucks and that's out of the store, probably around 20 bucks online. I thought about the quality issue because I'm also taking optimum nutrition creatine, 6 dollars for 150 grams and it sucks penis.

not the quality, because they basically get thier stuff from probably the same major companies. its the blend and the amount of filler that is used. basically, the "quality" is the amount of actual protein in the blend. if you are referring to quality as in isolate, caseinate, or concentrate, basically it has to do with absorption time. isolate is absorbed very quickly whereas caseinate can take up to 4 hours. a good blend would be one that incorporates all 3 so you have a steady even flow of protein to keep you in positive nitrogen balance. im not sure how optimum rates but i use it as well. havent had too much in the way of digestive problems with it and it tastes good. ive used the stuff from the protein factory and it seems more "hearty" as if it contains a denser amount of protein. we'll never know which companies are watering down their stuff. im pretty sure proteinfactory doesnt though. ------------------

I buy Optimum 5lbs'ers too. I don't think the quality of whey fucking matters. scoop of optimum is 31g has 22g of protein so= it's 71% protien. well you can get 80% protein powder at protein factory for 4.25 a lb... Whey protein Isolate and all that other expensive crap is about 90% protein. but all that means is that your scoop is 25 grams instead of 31 grams WHOOOPIDOOOO! whey protien all has the same amino acid profile, so I say get the cheap stuff.

optimum makes a great product... all wheys are not equal... HEAT is what kills the protein.. if you have a heat processed protein its shit, if its NOT heat processed then it should be just about as good as any other... some have extra amino's added so your protein is considered more "complete"

guys the quality of whey matters! if possible get 100% ion exchanged protein. it is micro filtered and the absorbtion rate is 100%. the absorbtion rate on regular whey is much much lower. ------------------

absorbtion rate on whey is already too-fast, why would you want to make it faster?

quote: i believe he is referring to the bioavailability. the amount you will actually use. 100% absorption vs only getting 70 or 80%. its an efficiency rating, not the rate of speed its digested.

i use optiumums too, your cant really expect to see any results using a protein,a protein is just to help your diet. the reason i can think of to use whey islote is if u have lactose problems or if your on a diet where every gram of carbs count
