OK, a 14 year old or whatever, any age under 16 say, commits a murder, in this case, imitating something they saw on TV. Automatically, he/she is old enough to know what was going on, they should have known better, they're "adult" enough.

OK, but when someone 18 or over has sex with someone 16 and younger, suddenly they're too childlike, and aren't adult enough to know what was going on, and they were a victim, wether they knew what they were doing, and wether they wanted it or not. I don't see the logic here. Sex and murder are really inborn traits as far as I can tell, along the lines of eating sleeping shitting pissing, etc. I mean take a 2 year old for example, if a 2 year old was angry enough, or if you've ever seen a young kid angry, you will know that when they're pissed off, and they get they're hands on something, or another life form, they could really do some damage depending on the defensive qualities of whatever/whoever else they're lashing out on. That's just the human quality to destroy something whan you're mad. It's just this certain society that we live in today that teaches us as we get older that it's wrong to do that, which I think is fair because, well, I don't think it'd be right for someone to end my life over anything, and I don't think it's fair for me to do that to someone else either, at least not while I was in my right mind anyway.

Anyway, back on topic, what I was trying to show with the baby example is that hurting and maiming is an inborn trait, just as is having sex when you get old enough to be able to do it, I mean it's just one of those things you just know. No one told out ancestor's ancestor's ancestor' ancestor's how to do it, it's just soemthing that you are born with being able to know.

So why do we have a hypocritical justice system that says that if you're under 16, or 18, whatever it 1s, it might be different in your state (which is even more silly when you think about it, each state declaring how old people within their residence should be before they think they know what's going on sex-wise)then you're the victim, you can't possibly comprehnd what sex is enough to make a rational decision, yet, kill someone for whatever reason during that age period, and you're often times tried as an adult and you all of a sudden are mature enough to know what you're doing. It's all bullshit if you ask me.

You have an excellent point about the sex thing.

The thing is, though, at 14 (or 12) you should know that someone is not well. Undoubtedly she cried. Undoubtedly she bled. Undoubtedly, she was lying on the floor unconscious.

Yet this kid did not react accordingly. If he had left her there, (because he was scared when she wouldn't get up or respond) she likely would have been found alive. That would be normal 12 year old behavior.

But at some point, he had to strike (and strike viciously) a little child who was lying on the ground, unconscious and bleeding.

There has to be repercussions. I agree, the idea of putting a 14 year old in jail for 70 years is - on the surface - kind of silly.

At 14, if you don't know that what he did to that little girl was wrong, then you're completely lacking any mental sanity...but...I like the point about the judge not buying the wrestling defense either...it's like saying you killed a cop because of 2Pac...I call bullshit!

Fry the kid...if it prevents one more incident like this one, it will be worth it...

On a related note, one that I can see the Law of Causality for...I also agree they should kill the kid in California...

At a local junior high yesterday in my town (the one I attended!), there was a threat made. I still know several local kids there, and most of my teachers still work there. If someone were to open fire there, and attempt to take the lives of someone I knew, and this "person' were about say 12-15 years old...I'd be all for killin' the culprit...

I don't see how any of you could be comfortable with a human being like this out on the streets within years of their respective crimes...ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE KIDS OF YOUR OWN!

offenders living in the area. In 1993, Buss had been paroled after serving 12 years of a 25 year sentence for the murder of Tara
Sue Huffman. Tara was sexually abused and murdered in Bradley, Illinois in 1981. While in prison, Buss bragged about Tara's
murder. Buss was seen lurking around the boat ramp while Christopher was there and his distinctive car was reported to have pulled out in front of a car near where Christopher's body was buried. He claimed that the murder was actually committed by
another man who looked like him and drove the same kind of car however, hair and DNA testing on the blood found in the trunk
of Buss's car and on a pair of boots he tried to get rid of proved different. Tara's brother attended Buss's trial for Christopher's murder. The jury found Buss guilty in 4 hours and sentenced him to death in less than three hours. The Illinois Supreme Court rejected Buss's appeal in April of this year.

True. This kid has a history of violent behavior, and he even kept trying to stab fellow inmates with pencils or whatever was handy, while awaiting trial!

Anyone of any age who inlicts such suffering and has no sense of the pain they are causing is a sociopath pure and simple and should be removed from society. And despite what we would like to think, they do NOT change.

...How many times can you recall doing something as a kid; having fun thinking no harm could come of anything (after all, no one gets hurt on tv) and going all out, then you realize when it's over..Uh oh...something isn't right. Age is insignificant when someone displays the ability of psychotic behaviour and lack of self control.

How significant is a 14 year old boy? How significant is a rabbit run over by a car? Same context.

There are millions of rabbits and billions of humans, there are also going to be billions of prisons.

If someone kills they deserve to die, there life is meaningless and useless to anyone.

The only use a murderer has to society is the economy, the more murderers we have the more police we need the more judges we need the more prisons, cleaners, health care, psychologists, guards and more tax. Its an infinity.

While no one disputes that Williams had often been called such names as "dork," "doofus," and "geekface" in high school, his new peers use considerably more colorful vocabulary. Indeed, according to prison authorities, despite his status as a murderer, the scrawny freshman is receiving virtually no "props" from his fellow inmates.

"Right now, we�re still calling him �fish� or �new meat,�" stated William�s cell-mate Jamal Abdul-Rahim, "but he�s a lock to be called �Jamal�s punk� or �Jamal�s bitch.� Unless I rent out his mouth for some cigarettes. Then he�ll be called �Jamal�s salad-tossing ho.�"

"It�s horrible!" sobbed Williams in a telephone interview. "I want to go home! Take my skate-board! Take my lunch money! Heck, send me back to high school! I had no idea prison could be this bad!"

But not everyone has been surprised by the difficulty of Williams� transition.
