ENSLOW, just read your post where you said you're a SWCC instructor at San Clemente. I'm currently trying to get a slot to BUD/S via OCS.

I'm not going to come out and call you a phony, but there were some red flags in your post. First of all, you spelled SEAL wrong; you consistently spelled it SeAL. Second, you spelled HOOYAH as HOOYA. Third, many of the evolution requirements you posted are wrong: it is not a 60m underwater swim, for example; it is a 50m swim. Also, those evolutions do not manifest until several weeks into First Phase, which only starts after about 5 weeks of moderately easy Indoc. Fourth, on your profile you list your occupation as Development Group (DEVGRU, one of the most elite SEAL units, located on the East Coast). Yet you also say you're an instructor at San Clemente? This is not possible. Fifth, if you are SWCC you aren't going to have anything to do with Swimmer Delivery Vehicles, which I believe are manned by SEALs. Yet your email address is sdv@. So belay my earlier words: I AM going to call you a phony. I think you are at best a kid who wants to be a SEAL when he grows up, and at worst a scumbag who is demeaning the hard work and sacrifice of real SEALs (or SWCCs). Prove me wrong, please.

Now in case you really ARE what you say you are, I apologize and I do have a question. What's the deal with steroid use in the Teams and in BUD/S? Is it widespread or uncommon? What are the prevailing attitudes toward steroids? I've heard trainees get steroid tested--true or not? Just curious...I've heard some rumors and want the straight dope.

why did i have a feeling this was going to happen.

first SeAL is spelled this way on every single the memo the navy has so it has become a habit of most active duty SeALs to spell it this way.

second, the evolution requirments i post are
what are required of the candidate, i gave these because it will give you a little bit of cush because you will only have 4 weeks to improve your times on run, swims, and obstc. in phase one.

third.DEVGRO was broke into 4 boat crews in 96' two on each coast, and is nolonger an active CT team, but now R&D teams responsible
for updating and revising various regional SeAL teams weapons and tactics.(like me! i work with seal team 1).

Forth. Being a SWCC or special warfare combat crewman instructor has plenty to do with sdv
teams, because every active seal can become sdv cert , instuctor or not. which means you can be a SeAL and be certified to work with the various(4) sdv teams. you dont have to be on a active sdv team to be sdv certified.

im sorry if my e-mail address offends you.

1. I have never seen SEAL spelled SeAL on any Navy document, official or unofficial; and I have never seen an active or former SEAL spell it that way either.

2. Like I said, some of your evolution requirements are wrong.

3. Although DEVGRU (not DEVGRO) is mainly R&D, it is still an operational unit. DEVGRU operators recently were sent to the Balkans to apprehend criminals of war, although their mission was canceled.

4. Between this post, your last one, and your profile, you've said A) you're a SWCC instructor at BUD/S, B) you work for DEVGRU, and C) you work with Team 1. That does not add up.

5. If you are SWCC then you are not a SEAL. SWCCs operate boats, SEALs operate SDVs. Therefore you have no reason to use sdv@ as your e-mail address. I don't have a clue what you're trying to say in your last paragraph when you address this point.

No hard feelings, dude, but I still think you're a phony. If you've got some legit relationship to a member of NAVSPECWAR, just fess up because it will be more interesting if you tell the truth. Again, if you really are what you say you are, why don't you answer my question about steroid use in the Teams?

If anyone on this board wants some more information about SEALs or any of the terms ENSLOW and I used, feel free to ask! I'd much rather you get some real info from me than some nonsense from a poser. There's enough misinformation about SEALs going around already.
