These returns are done independently by each state? I dont think there could be any bias one way or the other because there are 51 states each doing their total returns. So it takes this long for every vote in the country to get counted? If this report is legit, looks like Bush kicked his ass. Too bad we'll never hear about it. I live in Austin and Ill let you know if there is anything in our paper. ------------------

So let me get this straight. If the media says Gore wins, then it is a lie (or there must be more concise counts done), but there is one report that Bush won and all of a sudden it is the Gospel Truth? I personally don't care (since the US president is nothing but a symbolic figurehead), but you guys should do some serious self-analysis before responding to my reply.

Well the reply is this, any one can go to each state and request the total vote count for each through freedom of information and add up the votes themselves. This I believe is what this person has done. The fact the media won't publish it is because it will make them look even dumber and the fact that the liberals can't say hey he didn't win the popular vote, when in fact he not only won it but he even won Florida as well and that was published in the paper. ------------------

Yes I get it. The paper in the us and the media in general are supporters of liberal politics. You can watch the broadcasting in the last presidential race and see an obvious bias towards the vp al gore. So much so there is a senate inquiry into the practices of the news media. Even after the race was pretty much over for gore they were still giving it to him even though bush had the lead. Yes, 2thick, the media lies and is highly biased. If you don't care then so be it, you don't have to live here and you can sell your property you have here. Varn, they do work that way here. Have you ever seen a front page story where someone used a gun to save someones life or prevent a rape or robbery? Nope. Why, because the media is anti gun. However, everytime there is a shooting it gets front page attention and national coverage for days on end, with analysis after analysis. (this is just an example) 2thick baby, The references are given for the report, you can or any one can verify that report. The media has never published those results. I do believe the new media lies, not only about gore, but about bush and other things. That is why I put my beliefs in the facts. If I can see it and verify it it is true then. PS. Sunny and 75-80 here. ------------------

quote: I have one question for you. Who lists these facts in public record? It is the civil servants of the USA. That means that humans do it and they are inherently biased and prone to corruption. Just because someone says its so, does not make it a fact.

Chesty is right, most newspapers in the US are liberal newspapers. The paper where I used to live was actually called the Tallahassee Democrat! Very biased in this country. Especially the NY Times ans The Washington Post...

This is why I wish we had some form of computer voting at the polls. Does anyone know any studies done on this? It seems like they could know constantly who is ahead and who would win

Don't need to read anything by whomever, All I know is media lies and is biased. Yes, so humans count the stuff, but as in Florida it is supposedly supervised and recorded for public record. I suppose if it were gore that got the majority vote then who is to say it is any more valid? The point is the vote totals however they were reached, whether or not you agree with them are recorded and accesible to anyone. But that does not matter since I don't have time to read Noam, nor any desire to. Back to sunny and 80. ------------------

quote: The conservative in you is really coming out A quick question...who owns the media conglomerates? I believe that big business does. Also how do news shows and newspapers make their money? They make money through advertisers. Therefore all media is very conservartive minded. If they were not in favor of big business then they would not be in business. Read between the lines my friend. Making the media look liberal is only a smokescreen because if it seems like it is on your side then you have no reason to question its motives. The government is doing a great job of "divide and conquer" in this great nation. Fianlly, just because I do not agree with what you are saying does not mean I am on the opposite side of the fence. There are more than two angles to view an issue....Just because I am not with you, does not mean I am against you.

I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that 2Thick is a "moderate." Also, there was a independent polling company that polled all major media sources about 6-8 months before the election on who they would vote for......94% were voting for Gore. ............I'd say that's slightly biased. I'll search around for the source on that, give me a sec. ------------------

Well, I don't really know who owns the media other than the media. Yes the gov does a good job of conquer and divide. I would lean toward the gov having the most influence on what is reported. That comes from the Iraq war. When all the media started reporting the anti-war shit, about a month into it someone high up said you will report nothing that will have a possibility of demoralizing the troops and taking away public support. Until it was over there was very little if reporting of anti war sentiment. Awww, 2thick, does it show? Yeah, I agree with 2 views or angles to everything.
