Do you have it? Does anyone with a respectable physique greet you when you first get there? Do people ask you for advice? Are you a ghost? Do large crowds gather around the squat rack when it's your leg day? Do you have someone who follows you around just to load your bar up with plates?

I am virtually a ghost at my gym. I am quiet to begin with but being sub 200 lbs, no one really could give a shit whether you are there or not and what you're doing while you're there. I could probably count the number of people I say wut up to in a week on one hand. Not that I really lose sleep over this because it's a Bally's and it's not super hardcore( http://www.mortician.net/ ) by ANY means. I think if anything people who actually understand weightlifting respect me for the fact that I actually do all the compound lifts as opposed to doing chest and biceps twice a week. For a gym filled with people who are spinning their wheels as far as their physique goes, this is not all that common. Usually if anyone comes to talk to me it's almost always because I'm deadlifting and they are like "wtf are you doing aren't you going to hurt yourself" , "that looks like it would hurt" , "hold on i have another call coming in."

What is it like for everyone else?

I do, but it's not really about how big or cut you are. I think it has more to do with your work ethic and attitude in dealing with others.

I walk around like a ghost as well...

I completely agree about the people "spinning their wheels". I always see overweight people using the ab machines as if that will give them a flat stomach. You hardly see them doing cardio, and god know what their diet is like.

If only people would educate themselves about bbing or getting in shape, then you might not see such idiots wandering around the gym.

It is better to be a ghost and not get pestered all the time when you are training. Most people know me in my gym as I have been there so long and train so damn hard. People who come up to me and start chatting shit when I am training bug me. I don't mind chatting to them, but not when I am training.

I work at in a gym, so I know everyone there... which is a biiiiitch when you wanna work out and ppl keep stopping you to say what's up... so now I wear a cap to the gym and look down when I walk If someone sees me, I just nod them hello.

That is stares! You know, like when you stare at pictures of runner naked!

Holy shit! people just come up to you and hand you stairs? What do you do with them? Do you like ascend them right there in the gym or do you install them in your home? I lift moderate weight and usually I just get like 7ft stepladders.

You would first have to get a security clearance. After review you might get an invite. Upon this face to face you'll be ask to provide physical proof ability. Then upon my review you might be allowed in the house. Bottom line is that if the dog doesn't like you your out.
Also for the ladies - shirts are not a requirement and the music is the flavor of the day but never crappy.
