He was at my school today and I talked to him and he wants me to go talk to him on Friday. My dad thinks I'm an idiot and that I could never handle the marines and that I should just stick with Navy. He'd prefer Airforce cuz that's even easier than the Navy. I want a challenge and he doesn't think I can do it. I hate that shit. Gee....thanks for the support dad. Anyways, we'll see what the Marines have to offer. The Navy recruiter's gonna be so pissed at me if he sees me there! His office is right next to the marine one!

So how hard to you think it will be for a girl? I'm a little unsure yet.

I think you should make darn sure you want to be in the service of Uncle Sam before you sign up. One day it's the Navy, next the marines are talking about something you like...It's cool to switch from one group to another, just make sure you are REALLY wanting to go in before you give your word to doing this

What ever happened to going into an ROTC program?

Your best bet would be to go to college, and if you still want to join the armed services, graduate school first, and then go in as an officer.. It would give you a lot more time to think about it, and weigh your options better.. You would be much better off as an officer..

I did go the USMC route and still am an active reservist.

The Navy gives A LOT more for college, and they don't play all the dumbshit games that they do in the Marines. I think you will have a better time in the Navy, but the training, memories, experiences in the Marine corps is why we do it. not the money.

but ultimately, if your not going in to be a lifer, I'd say do your time in the Navy, get your college money and get out. I would if I could do it over.

good luck on your decision.
