Jesus Check, youknow how many times you've posted that exact same thing since I've been here? Youre starting to sound like a broken record....I didn't see a sign on the top saying "Americans only cause we can't take criticism" Besides that fact, I am not going anywhere. You've never said anything rude or degrading to this country as a whole...you have pointed out problems, which most of us cannot deny! You're fine in my book...it's jealous, ignorant motherfuckers like the Angel of Death/U.S.-Envy that piss me, and every other proud American, esp. those like Big Buck that are/have serving/served this country in the military, off!! The US is built upon constant checks and balances. If you try to prevent the right to criticize the US then you are going against everything that is American. Only a fascist would try to silence the voice of the people (even criticism). I hope you guys are not trying to prevent criticism and complaints about the US, because that means you are afraid that there is something to hide. | ||

2Thick...you've read my posts, you know what I believe! If you want to "criticize," or "point out" flaws, by all means, GO FOR IT! Like I've told kat, I agree that the U.S. is FAAAR from perfect...BUT--BUT...people like the Angel of Death that throw stones and can't back up their argument with any logical or factual information annoy the sh*t out of me! Hell, I disagree with a lot of people on here, even you some times, LOL, but I respect your opinions because they have merit, and they are based on knowledge, not on whims or emotions! These jealous foreigners that just try to point fingers at America for all the ills of the world are hypocrites!! We do so much for this damn planet, and for what...?? Thanks?? NO! Although I disagree with instances such as the war in Vietnam, Kosovo, etc., I understand why we went there! We had HUMAN INTEREST IN MIND! Varnsen...I was referring to what AMERICA has done for the rest of the planet...I can only influence those around me, those that I come in contact with, and those that I care about... Barney...we don't want "one-sided" arguments...we want the arguments against something that we are proud of and support BACKED UP by logic and facts... And it seems like all of those who want to bash "us" as Americans just say "I hate America," or "It's you damn Americans..." Give me proof and I will respect you like anyone else...freedom of speech is great, but it doesn't give you the right to make emotional judgements and think that you're making a point!! Grotto, I believe he's referring mainly to all the bed-wetting liberal gun-control advocates that can't really say WHY they support it, but just that they do...'cause...uuhh...guns are bad and they...uuhh...kill people! Hey, ya'll (yeah, born in the Gret Stet of Texas, bred in Looziana), lay off kat...as far as I know, she has carried on her discussions/criticisms of the US with civility and openness...although I disagree with her, I appreciate any chance to discuss politics, etc. with a sincerely inquisitive person... Badkins, what you are referring to is (excuse the phrase) so typically American. You have no concept of any life other than the one you lead. Grotto, OnekikassWoman and I live in a gun-controlled society and has always been such. If we didnt like it, we'd move. I think your country made its bed and now you have to deal with the consequences. It doesnt mean that my gun-controlled country is right or wrong.It just IS what it is. Give me statistics to prove your point, and I'll give you ones to prove mine. That is why I say statistics are useless. I can understand why there is a problem in America...you cant let the people walk around with free firearms for 300 years and then say its wrong. It wont work. | ||

I don't know. My only point is for you people that live in the U.S. and don't like it then renounce you citizenship bail your ass to another more satisfying country for you life plan. | ||

As someone who has lived in the USA, Canada England and the Republic of Ireland, and have enjoyed them all I still feel a kinship with all these countries, and I enjoy a spirited political discussion from each even though I am not a citizen of any. I have never been accused of sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong till now.I dont think I will stop debating anyone who has a brain worth debating, whatever his nationality might be. Kat...I can admit I have no concept other than the life "I've" lead...how could anyone have a true concept of someone else's life?? What I do know, is that from all of my studies, all of my history lessons, and all of the news I try so hard to listen to with an OBJECTIVE mind, I can say that I am glad I was born and raised in America and NOT anywhere else... This topic is bigger than "America VS. ??" It's about backing up statements/arguments...ANY OF THEM!! And like I've said before, you do that!! Some don't, and that's who's been p*ssing people like Check, MP5, chesty, me, and many others lately... The funny thing is, GUN CONTROL isn't that big of an issue "in and of itself..." It is a manifestation of the semi-Socialist government we have continually been accepting blindly for the last 30-40 years, starting with LBJ's "Great Society!" One of the major reasons I don't like disarming the American people is that if you look back at history and people like the Jews, Gypsies, and ANY OTHER people that were either forced out of a country--or forced to death--it all STARTED with taking basic liberties away--like owning weapons--keeping them from defending themselves...living in only certain places (maing the pogroms on the Jews easier to administer)...wearing uniforms--making everyone "look" the same and take away any individuality!! Those are all things that I am "big" into stopping...gun control is just one of them!! I'll let it end here since I'm really not "disagreeing' with anyone on this thread!! ------------------ |
