Probably a hardware store cause I know the business and it would have a better chance of being successful. My preference though would be either a music store or bookstore. In my town. | ||

I would begin a small software company (gaming software) consisting of myself, my best-skilled friends, and a graphics guy we would pick up off the street somewhere. The business would be located in Miami (i.e. at each of our houses) and wherever the graphics guy lives. Part of the $50,000 will be to make up for the money that we all would not be earning at our regular jobs while we undertake the first project, and the remainder will be used to advertise and spread the word of our first software title which would lead to other people with lots of money wanting to invest in my ("our") company for our next big project. A record company would be nice. Hire some young wannabe producers and singers and do what Master P did with $10K. Actually, I'd probably rent out a place in NY and turn it into a club. Too many dot-bomb's for me to mess around with that idea. ------------------ | ||

Well business idea number one I would plead the 5th, but I could promise you after a month I would pay you back the 50k plus about a million for a tip business #2 open a glass shop in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston with 1 office manager in each store to hire 4 workers and rent 2 trucks and build a glass rack for each truck for every store Calling it Texas Discount Glass and mirror, Get my uncle to help me oversee all the stores since he knows it the business well Glass business the markup for glass products is usually over 100% plus another 50% of that for the labor and pay the worker 7-9 bucks an hour to start and increase to 12hr by 6months 3rd business idea bring back the Pet rock theme, or change it to Pet Crystal or Pet SeaShell 4th idea Start up a Security company after I take this locksmith course I'm about to sign up for...Specializing in testing Security systems and implementing plans to improve upon them. 5th idea buy some properties hire someone to manage them or do it myself and rent out to people, taking the profit after bills, repairs, and upgrades into a money market fund or T-bills 6th idea Build my idea dream gym that I have been designing over the past few years...With offices for chiropractors, rehab clinic, Barnes and noble type place to find workout and sports related books, movies, tapes, cd's and clothing. I don't believe 50k would cover all that but it seems cool 7th a mom and pop type resturant, java shop, bar, or liquor store

50 grand could easily start an internet business as long as you had an affiliate program running along side it. You figure 15,000 for design, webspace and bandwidth, 10,000 for employee salary and the rest in an account for overhead and day to day expenses. If you started a reward based site you would have to get your advertisers lined up and you'd have great word of mouth advertising with the plethora of reward site junkies (like myself). If done correctly with measures in place to prevent fraud you should see some sweet profits within the first three months. ------------------ | ||

I'd open a Hooters in Nothern Ca. But they want 3,000,000 just to get a franchise started. So I guess I'd need a little more. For 50,000 I'd go in with the guy building our new gym here. He's already asked. | ||

Definately a gym for bodybuilding and fighting arts. If I could choose anywhere in the world I'd open it in South Florida as the UK sucks. |
