BigJay-I've driven my jeep from San Diego, CA to Houston, TX....about a 22 hour drive....ran me about $200. My jeep is jacked up w/ 35" tires, so it's not that great on gas mileage. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK What is the final gear ratio on this Jeep? The 32" tires are small enough not to effect the gas consumption too much. The 350 could be thirsty if it has a big carb on it... You are correct in assuming that 8-10 mpg's will be your average burn. Hell, it's a jeep, though - My 4.0 liter TJ gets 14 MPG's w/ 33" tires and new 4.10 gears. Depending on its condition: $3-7K It's too bad that jeeps have shitty re-sale value. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

$5500. Find out how the chevy engine is in there. Is it a chevy T350 trans? How about the transfer case? Is it the 203 or 205? 205's are gear drive and can be put in 2 wheel drive. See if the whole drivetrain is fron a chevy or if they used adapters and which ones, trans to transfer or bellhousing with a jeep stick. Ask if the motor mounts are welded to the frame or bolted. Welds can weaken the frame if not done right. Check the frame by the front spring perch, that's where the 7's break. Hopefully it's got the Dana44 rear and 373 gears with a turbo350 and 205transfer case ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looks to be in pretty decent shape. How does the frame look? Usually all Jeeps that age have a litte rot. 350 is gonna drink some gas. The cool part is lift kits for that year (suspension, body kits suck) is pretty cheap. Put some 33" Super Swampers on that bitch so everyone can here you comin. I would pay around 5 cash if the body and frame are rot free. I don't know who said it but engine mounts would concern me. It's always hard to fit a 350 in a Jeep. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
