'The World Needs A Hero' is something of a musical antidote to Megadeth's last studio album, 'Risk'. "I think that the title was a warning that we were taking a 'risk' with the record. Only a daft punk would not have noticed that disclaimer. However, this record is nothing like 'Risk'. Saying that could jinx it, so let's just say the odds are increasing in our favour that this is a fans' record," Mustaine explained.

Almost like him realizing that the last album sucked and saying: "Don't worry, guys. This is your band... we'll fix this right up."

I've listened to most of the albm already. Kicks ASS. I'm going to buy it when it comes out even though I have most of it already.

megadeth has always been my fav...
there is a reason they are still in the game.

they know how to play.

they know how to listen to the fans (unlike the metallica pieces of shit). they made their bassist leave, ridiculous. they didnt *make* him but of course hetfield is being an ass.

he called Canada a "socialist" country and told Napster users lazy fat asses and told them to go to "canada or some other socialist country" since they apparently don't value money

helloooooo?

Oh, god you guys should check out the message boards at www.metallica.com Hilarious shit going on there, and all of the fans there have no lives but to worship Metallica.

There's tons of Megadeth-bashing on those boards, and I'm one of the few who love Megadeth and rip on Metallica for "selling out." I'm like Theron there (and I also post as "sexual mustard") Don't get me wrong, I love the old Metallica, but after the black album they've gone downhill.

Can't wait till "The World Needs a Hero" comes out!!!

Yes, "Return to Hangar" is the 'sequel' to "Hangar 18," only unlike The Unforgiven/The Unforgiven 2, "Return to Hangar" is ACTUALLY a 'sequel,' AND both songs actually make some sort of sense.

Oh yeah, and "Return to Hangar" doesn't suck. =)

I was a Metallica fan from the old days.
We all know they suck now.
Megadeth is okay. They have strayed from the old sound, but not as bad as Metalli-Greed.
I would say that one of the only bands from around that genre of music who stuck to their roots would be Pantera. They actually got heavier as the years went by.
You wanta good heavy band to check out.
Dying Fetus. Don't let the name fool you.
They are exellent.

Well I could be mistaken, but I believe Phil was on that one album BEFORE Cowboys from Hell, and you know what I mean. They kept their sound(once they found it, better?) and didn't tone it down.

i get soo pissed off when people say pantera used too be a glam band. soo fucking what! FYI they made a couple albums before Phil Anselmo joined the band but they did suck cause the old singer was a faggot and it was him that gave Pantera the glam image. But it was Phil that brought Pantera back to the hardcore style that they are today. they were justing going with style for that era. PANTERA FUCKING RULES!!!! look at some old ass pictures of Metallica around '83 and they are glamed up to.

Pantera is undoubtedly the heaviest most talented metal band out today, they cant be touched in concert either..and agreed they did the glam thing before Phil, and even then the music wasnt that different from "Cowboys from hell"..

Rag on Metallica all you want but I would rather workout to S&M than just about anything. IMO, it's truly great music, alomst as good as a drug.

Phil was on Proud to be Loud as well...
you could hear the sound developing from there, into Cowboys, and into Vulgar.

the 80's glam stuff with Terry Lee, well, wasn't very good. even for glam.

where is ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US from? i saw some crazy flash animation with that shit...

ALL YOUR BASE
