My first ride was 1948 Willy's CJ2A. I spent most of my formative years in CO, Could not have had a better "machine."

Also owned an 88' Wrangler. It was OK but as a primary vehicle it sucked (on the pavement too much).

Good luck with the search.

IMO - I would look for a late 70's CJ7 if I were in the "older Jeep" market. Preferably one that was originally titled and remained in the Western US (states with low average humidity).

Agree w/ you, Buck. The plastic layout looks cheap. The TJ (spring) suspension makes up for that, though

that's true, plus I don't like the stick shift...it's all small and shit. The suspension is much better on the newer ones though. U get a hard-top or soft? What color did u get? 4.0L?

Well I'm sure I'll be the black sheep of this thread

I once had a 91 Cherokee Lmtd 4X4

Lots of fun off road, and good looks...I never got the chance to beef it up with a lift of bigger tires cause I found a crack in the engine block this past summer...It was a great vehicle till then...My audio system was the best part so I always drove everyone to the clubs, beaches, lakes, or offroading....I hope one day I can find an old Cherokee and turn it into a 4X4 Monster

Have fun with your new project I'm sure all of us Jeep lovers would too...
