I had problem with dyslexia and lazyness when i was a child. Not only did I have digital dyslexia I had photo dyslexia which means I would see 123 and read back to you out loud 132. I would also confuse many things such at b and d, p and q, and turn the #9, 3, and 5 backwards writing them down. The main cause of this was impatients and lazyness. I had to retrain myself with the help of a tutor. For some reason when I corrected all this my phonics/reading and spelling abilities increase greatly/. The point is after all that crap is it may be something very different if they are behind on their reading ability.

I used the regular version for both our boys at ages 3 and 4. They are 8 and 9 now and both read at a 9th grade level. I think it works. We inherited it from my sister-in-law. Her daughter reads at a 12th grade level and age 12.

when i was 6 or 7th grade. i read at like a 12th grade level. never had any hooked on phonics or anything. i sorta dont believe in it because of the fact that phonics just teach you how to sound out words...that doesnt mean youre understanding what is coming out of your mouth. for example i can probably read you a whole page out of a spanish book, but that doesnt mean i know what the hell is going on. but hey, if its for education, give it a try. ------------------ |
