I'm just curious if you are happy. I wonder how many people are actually happily married. If your husband or wife visits this site, please don't answer because I don't want to read bullshit answers. If you are unhappy are you still together because of kids/ financial reasons; what is your drive to stay together? Basicly, how many of you regret being married. If you choose to answer please tell me how long you've been married, and how old you were when you were married.

I'm 28. Married in July of '98. Went out with her for about six years prior to that.

There's a lot to your question.

Are you happily married?
Not at the moment. I'm happier than I was a week ago. We've been through a very, very tough time over the last six months. We're working on it. No long-term commitment is going to be completely happy all the time. There are ups and downs. The key is whether your relationship has a solid enough base to weather those down times.

If you're unhappy why do you stay?
Because fundamentally, I love her. And I believe that the pain of working through our problems is worth the payoff of a solid, loving and lasting relationship. We married for a lot of reasons and even though there are unhappy times, I feel like I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Yes we have kids and that is a major motivation in working to improve our relationship rather than just flush it and hope for something else to come along. Love is about caring for others welfare in addition to your own.

Do I regret being married?
Absolutely not. Marriage has given me the most beautiful daughter in the world. It has given me another baby in 6 weeks. It has taught me a lot about myself and about people and relations in general. I regret certain things have happened in our marriage. But everybody has regrets of some nature.

Hope this answers some of your questions.

I am happy in my marriage. My husband would also agree with me on this as well.

We have been married for 12 year's.

NOTHING IN LIFE IS EASY! TRUST ME-WE WORK HARD AT STAYING HAPPY! It's a full time job and it's 50/50!

I believe in the 60/40 plan.

Give 60 and never plan for more than 40 in return.
Makes it a little easier when you just play it that way. You don't feel your let down near as much.

Went out with her for 7 yrs, married 2 and getting divorce next year. We both grew up too quickly. By 20 I was living with her. In a state of mild depression. Shoulders, marriage, and job are all in turmoil. But we are the best of friends. Shit happens!!!
Can you say CELEXA!!

I have been married, 5 yrs. now, been with him for 8 yrs. Although the single life looks extremely appetizing at times, so do milkshakes, frech fries, nachos, beer & threesomes. Not necessarily in that order.
Happily married you ask? Most of the time...Many ups and downs, non are my fault....I think that is the problem....

Thought I'd throw my 2 cents in on this one.
Been married almost 19 years, half our lives.
Happy? some of the time un-happy some of the time, in a rut most of the time.
We have 2 beautiful daughters (13 & 12) of course they are a big reason neither of us has given up. But the thought of them moving out and things getting back to the way they were before kids is even more of a reason.
Do I regret being married? never not ever. I missed out on a lot getting married at 19 but I gained so much more. If you ask me it's worth it! Kinnda like working out the harder you work at it the better results you get.

I'm getting married in October of this year. We've been together almost four years and have lived together for about three and a half. I would say we're both ready to be married.

I'm 28 and she's 29 and I'm happy I've waited until I was older to live a little and not have any regrets.
