Dude, I have a "HawKing". They fuckin suck. You can't take snap-shots, you can just record videos. Look for one like the "American Pie" cam.Those are the shiznit. They should come with software. | ||

I have a Logitech QuickCam (USB) that I got at some store around here... CompUSA probably - I normally buy everything online, but I wanted this right then, and a scanner and such. it was very easy to install, and the software is pretty darn cool - I was going to write a program that would watch a vid feed of it all day and check for a threshold change in the picture, if it was over a certain amount, then it would take a pic ever 3 secs and store it - I wanted to catch people breaking into my apartment (worthless if they stole the comp  ) - but this comes with that built into the software.It also will automatically upload to a website that you tell it every X seconds as well. the only bad thing I would say about it is that I had to reboot the machine it was on every two days or so - it was Win98 and the combination of it being a slower computer and the software, it wasn't happy running all the time for some reason. I haven't used it in awhile b/c I'm less intersted in having my face on web pages now (I had it on one of my games development pages for awhile). ------------------ Build a man a fire, he is warm for a day. They have their own software with it to stream video - or you can setup netmeeting (ms product that is free) and let people join a "conference" - it is very good with audio over a bad connection even, but with video it can get jumpy ------------------ Build a man a fire, he is warm for a day.
