No team sport could EVER compare...I'm not saying bodyduilding is "better," it's just more exhilirating in my opinion, 'cause it's YOU AND YOU ONLY, up on that stage, spotlights glaring on you, judges eyeballin' every inch of you...

Drop me an e-mail ANYTIME if you've got questions...I'd be happy to help, suggest, critique, motivate, anything!

The hardest most rewarding thing I have ever done. You reach down grab your balls and go for it. It brings on highs, lows, blood sweat and tears. It shows dedication whaen you have to diet and never cheat and it shows heart when everyday you go to the gym with the goal of going on stage and destroying your fellow competitors. Not for the weak of heart and its never easy but so very much worth it.

oh Yeah? well that sounds a lot a like Wrestrling, ever step on the mat at a Div. 1 school??? you will feel like the whole crowd is just watching your every movement, Take the other guy down and they cheer!, Get thrown or Slamed and they will clap for your oponent, kind of like Gladiator.

BRR, I agree...Bodybuilding, powerlifting, wrestling, most Olympic sports, etc., etc. (IMHO) blow team sports out of the water, because it's all YOU!

No excuses, no blame, no back up!!

Flexed I could not say it better myself. You have to give it absolutely everything you have within you and then some in order to compete. One of the most rewarding things I have done in my lifetime.

I compete. I've done 7 contests in 5 years.
It doesn't have to be the agonizing experience everyone describes it as. I looked about as best and ripped as I could, and it wasn't that tortuous. If you have a little self-discipline and patience, it can be quite rewarding and fun. (The hardest part for me was actually the unusual, cosmetic stuff you normally don't do ... putting together a routine, choosing music, shaving, tanning...) And it certainly is a great motivator, being around all those people who take bodybuilding as seriously as you do. Also, don't think that you have to look like Jay Cutler to compete...you see all kinds at amateur contests. Think of your first show as just practice and see if you like it.
