Oh tisk tisk, the Fat whale running the gym this morning pushed her luck a bit too far...It was bad enough when she turned from the only half ass radio station to soft rock, but did I complain no. I just grunted away on my shoulders and kept lifting. Then to the complete shock of EVERYONE lifting including the half ass lifters, she turned to EASY LISTENING.....AHHH...If that wasn't bad enough they were playing "Wind beneath my wings" and she STARTED TO FUCKING SING!!!ARRRRRRRH!!! about that time I dropped my weights and walked over to her to complain about her singing and the music. Nothing rude or crude just a simple complaint to let her know that I would prefer her not singing and that she turn the channel. her reply "I'm running the gym this morning and this is what we are going to listen too." My face has only been that red 2 other times in my life. I asked her who was in charge of the entire Rec Center and she said she was. I then continued to ask her who her boss was and she wouldn't respond. I told her I would bet not ever going back their again that if she asked everyone lifting that 75-90% of the people their they wouldnt have wanted to hear that music. Then she informed me that it wasn't up to "us" lifting what music was being played... I then began to inform her that I was not only paying for the right to lift and listen to music while I lifted that I was paying her Salary. To which extent she called the cops. 10min later and after I finished my workout the cops arrived. They informed me that I was harrasing her and needed to leave. I informed them that she was harrasing me and the others lifting with her crude singing and music. 3 other good people came up and complained to. I asked the officers if they would give this complaint to her supervisor since she was unwilling to tell me who that person was. So I walked out and left it at that.... I can't wait to get in touch with the Student Senate and whoever is in charge of the Rec Center staff cause I'm going for her job. on a side note I'm very glad this "whale" didn't inform me of her qualifications to be working their to begin with cause I probably would have picked her up over my head and asked her what her qualifications were again before dropping her like the whale she was.     | ||

Happened to me at college once, this twirp was playing some sick music so I complained. He was walking around air-guitaring and singing. He got all smart with me and I let him know I did not appreciate his mouth. He turned it off. ------------------ | ||

i went there too. i used to work out at the rec center for a while too. it's a nice place, but it gets too crowded and yes, the music they play is very disturbing. you should try going to SMAC. it's only $30 a month or so. i know that the rec center is free, but it's worth it to me to be able to train in a slightly more hardcore environment. | ||

Yeah I haven't seen that gym you speak of Decibel but I have heard it is pretty hardcore. I'm on academic probation this semester so I'll have to wait to see if my grades hold up before I sign up to join a gym. Most of the frat boys are starting to leave so it's not as bad as it was in Jan | ||

SMAC isn't exactly hardcore, hardcore, but it's a pretty cool, small gym with a bunch of rusty equipment and nothing fancy. yeah, the rec center is full of frat boys and sorority chicks who put on make-up and perfume to go ride the treadmills. it's funny too, how it gets packed on friday afternoons as everyone is trying to get "pumped up" before going to chug down a bunch of beers. | ||

I have the same prob. but in the military you dont have to pay for the gyms and and the guys behind the counter are also Marines so good luck trying to get the stationed changed...MP3 player is all i can say... | ||

Badkins I went to Blinn in Bryan last spring and worked out at the Golds in Bryan, I was able to go to the one in College station but I never made it there...To many Milfs at the one bryan to leave....I was going to try and go to A&M but they told me in a interview that unless I had 4.0 I wouldn't be considered for the business dept, and that even transfering from within the university faced the same standards....Good place good people to workout with. Yeah my money has been really tight with bills so perhaps since my b-day is comming up I can ask for an MP3 player from the folks. I usually have my cd player but my belt that I keep it is broke and can't tape it anymore. The only reason I'm on probation is for my grades. I had to drop 2 classes last semester because I would have been failed due to an absence policy(2 absences) they didn't offer excuses for missing them. So though I dropped them it was held against my gpa since I dropped past the point I was allowed to drop without a problem. Not to mention I have not been able to resolve an incomplete I got in Dance...I mean crying out loud it wasn't real dancing we had to watch artsy fartsy type movies and stuff...So this summer I get to retake those classes and my gpa should be fine then. | ||

I work at a gym, I hate listening to music while I work so I turn it off in the lobby. if something shitty plays in the weight room, and someone complains I've got no problem changing it. I'm surprised at how many people on this board have rude employees at their gym! | ||

If you dont get her job----Take it out on her car-Wait exactly 3 months when she will forget about this---and tell know one. Pretend like it never happend---then 90 days from now, you will get your revenge! It sounds childish but you will feel alot better----Mark it on your calender---and even if you dont feel like doing something like that, 90 days from now---Just do it on principal! | ||

Agent Shagwell I was once a very good sweet talker...I haven't brought it upon myself to bring that trick back into my bag...Guess It's time I get back into the program. That would have been pretty darn funny if I would have gotten face to face and sang with her very very loud. growingqwik they have a few raquetball courts, indoor track, tons of cardio equipment, and lots of basketball courts. So you go to the University of Arkansas huh...I had an uncle graduate from their way back in the day.....I grew up on watching them play in the SWC football and basketball. I still have my Hog Hat (plastic hog worn as a hat) somewhere packed up lol....Yeah tell your friend he can give me an email or whatever...When is he planing on moving down here? | ||
