Okay. So, about four months ago I went to a dealership for about a $250/month payment. My dumbass walked out of there with a $450 payment. I calculated my bills and found that I could do it. However, with my bills as follows I'm realizing that I might be able to pay for all this cool stuff, if I don't mind eating Ramen Noodles for the next five years. $450 car $225 insurance $710 rent $500 daughter ------- $1885.00 per month before food, gas, utilities, phone, fun money. Some of you may remember a few days ago I posted about wanting to clear up my credit. So, here's the dilemma. After taxes every two weeks I pull $1208, so $2416 a month. With the deductions above that leaves me $531 for food, gas, utilities, phone, fun money for the month. Is my debt to income ratio ridiculous? Can I do this? Sorry I'm rambling, my whole question is about my car. I feel I'm in over my head, I don't want to struggle just to drive a pimp car, because then I can't pimp woman except a ride around town, but we can't stop for anything cause I'm too broke. I hate that feeling. So, I'd rather get rid of my car, clean up my credit, while driving a normal person car. How can I? I owe about $18,000 for my car, if I try and sale it back to a dealership I may get $14000 so now I pay $4000 for something I had for four months. If I have them repo it, does my credit get really fucked up? Is that really bad? Because if not, I'll save 3 months of my car payments, take that $1350 and go buy a piece of shit with four wheels and a seat. What do you guys think I should do?

Sell your car. I have a paid for '90 toyota truck. Gets me where I need to go and I save around $500 a month. ------------------

tough situation crazy1. i have a few friends who have overextended themselves on the purchase/lease of a phat ride only to realize later that not only are they broke, but the also come to the realization that cars do not get you hoz. I suggest one of two things: 1. Find a rich woman and date her and support your ass. You may even be able to quit your job. 2. Marry the person you have your daughter with so you have a combined income and can share living expenses. don't let your car get repo'd, you will be fucking yourself ten times worse than you already are in the long run. well for the next 7 years anyways. my suggestion is to find a second job that you can make some extra cash on that you can live off. $531 is just flat out not enough to live off of. i have tried it before and i gradually watched my credit card debt sky rocket as a result of it. ------------------ [This message has been edited by supersizeme (edited February 28, 2001).]

Did I read that right...$225 per month insurance? Unless you require high risk, that is way out of line! I spend $800 per year for full coverage on a $29,000 vehicle. I would definitely suggest getting a couple more quotes.

Steel - It is a jet black '98 Camaro. Features T-tops, custom rims, cd player, power everything, 34,500 miles, V-6, dual exhaust, limo tint, excellent condition. I feel like Night Rider driving around in this thing. |
