I attempted to post a similar topic on this about a month ago until it got deleted. Please don't delete this one. Most place I excurse to I tend to see certain individuals wearing T-Shirts or a bumper sticker on a car etc etc that says something like "proud to be black" or "you wear your X , I'll wear mine". This in my humble opinion is a sign of inferiority to others. I believe most of the people who express themselves in this fashion have a void or fear that is somewhat filled momentarily when wearing the T Shirt or letting others know in some form that they are proud to be whatever it may be. Also, actions like these are a step backwards for yourself because you wearing or expressing yourself in this manner lets others know that certain "things" get under your skin basically implying your a weak minded bitch. I think you should be proud to be YOU and you alone. Too many people look at the color of a persons skin and then apply the typical stereotype or negative association. I challenge you to attempt to delete this labeling of others. Its not going to be done overnight, it will take time. You will see others and yourself in a different light as gains in this area progress. peace and may some high grade Reefer be a part of your day. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good post. I hate those logo t-shirts or other methods of expression. You are absolutely right in that it shows others that the person expressing themselves in that fashion is weak minded or insecure. I believe that they display those logos so that they may draw attention away from their percieved faults and their insecurities. Whenever I see a "no fear" logo, I immediately label that person as being very insecure indeed if they have to insist that they have "no fear". If you cannot accept fear as part of your life, you will never understand that life has limitations. Fear is there to make you think. I personally wear no jewelry and only solid neutral colors because I want people to see who I really am. ![]() ![]() ![]()

ummmmmm , over the past 30 years Marijuana has become a sub-culture, High Times is the Jet and Ebony Magazine of pot smokers, some people look down upon people who use Marijuana.... so having a signature that has reference to Marijuana is not the same as wearing a "legalize it" t-shirt or a "I like it green" bumper sticker? does it not serve the same purpose as a T-shirt/Bumper sticker saying "I Smoke Pot And I'm Proud" "You roll your Joint and I'll roll mines" "Lets sit together and pass around the peace pipe". do you not feel like you have to assure us that you are not ashamed of your drug use? if what you are saying is true then every person who bought a "Got Fina?" T-shirt from Mr.H is a "bitch" because they feel insecure about their use of steroids. PS: I do smoke pot, not on a regular basis but I do keep a small stash of about 1/4 once on hand, for those days where I need to relax so don't think I have anything against pot smokers. I don't understand the proud to be something you can't control. If your proud b/c your succesfull in business and proud to be in sales I can see it. If your proud to be good basketball player i can see it. If your proud to be a moral citizen I can see it (it takes effort) but if your proud to be black/white gay/straight I dont get it, why be proud over something you never had a choice over? Its just a fact, be proud in something you can control and have done, be proud of actions, not on something so arbitrary as what race or origin you are. These are my humble opinions, if you don't like them - sounds to be like you got nothing to be proud of that YOU HAVE DONE. peace and-imout ------------------ For a good time click here: Search and Profiles (300Kleens Board) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Big Rick Rock, there are many ways to look at any issue but the context you speak of doesnt fit. Let me explain, most(note most was used) who have the Proud to be whatever(black, white)T shirt or sticker have a negative attitude towards anyone other than there race, understand, they have a chip on their shoulder about something, Having a legalize it t shirt or got fina t shirt has nothing to do with this at all. Like I mentioned there is an arguement or answer for anything but to justify it properly(which you didnt with your examples) is important as well. peace brother and thanks for your insight. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Ahhhhhh Ok I get the point now, what you are saying is it is ok for people to be proud of their background as long as they also accept and respect other people who are not from the same ethnic group, ummm thats a good point, I still don't see how the t-shirts and bumper stickers come in ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Slopain I have to agree with you. I was going to post something to that effect but went to take a math test instead. If anyone really wore a shirt that said "white pride" how do you think they would be treated? Lets not even comment about what would happen to their car. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

the purpose of my last post was to point out that someone claiming their pride over something they have no control over is ok for them but in terms of the rest of the world why should any of us care who has pride or not? If your going to wear it be my guest, just don't ask me for sympathy in those causes and don't ask me to be outraged if someones pride irritates you... So wheres my "Mixed and Proud" shirt? i haven't seen any "I'm a mixed mutt" type of shirts....Anyone else see them before? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm proud of my Flag(and would be honored to be able to fight for it to the death) and it is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of what my Great Great Grand Father fought bravely for. As for respect, I respect the fact that I am where I am today because of him and those like him. mike ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
