That is one of the oldest scams going. You call the number, send them $15-$25 for "shipping", and then they send you a letter basically telling you to make copies of the letter they send you. It is up to you to continue with the scam by taking out advertisements. There is little articles about these scams all the time. They are not illegal, just very misleading.

If it were only that easy to make "$1500" per week stuffing legit envelopes. That is $78,000 per year sitting on your ass. I don't think so. I could hire an army of Filipinos over here to stuff envelopes all day for $5 a piece. As a business owner, why would I want to pay some red-neck to do something a machine could do anyways?

Please don't fall for that scam, or at least I hope you are kidding.

Have you checked into doing "secret shopping" or any of the internet reward programs for some extra cash? Let me know if you want some info - all are legit and pay pretty good.

It all depends on what you want to do. There are Secret Shopper programs where youget paid to visit places (like fast food places, dept stores, oil change chains etc). You get a base pay, plus reimbused for any expenses (meaning free oil changes, free food etc). There is a little paper work involved but hell, you are getting paid. On the internet there are tons of programs (all legit) that either pay you cash or on a point system that you can cash out for gift certificates (Amazon, fast food, dept stores etc). The nice thing is that if you are getting paid in Amazon.com or any certificates it isn't considered cash so you don't have to claim it on your taxes.

Another option is to cash out for Webcertificates which is nothing more than a glorified debit card. When you hit a certain point level you cash out, they send you an email and the money is transfered to your account. You can request a physical card for about 5.00 that is good for three years. It's sweet as hell though because in about 6 months I had about 450.00 on it and had a HELL of a nice Christmas. Free DVD player, CD burner, tons of toys etc.

I won't lie, some of this stuff takes some time to see a return - usually about 30 days but once you get started it's awesome (and free).

If you want any details or info feel free to email me. I have already started planning for this Christmas - if all goes as planned I will have over 4,000.00 in cash and gift certificates. Not bad for goofing around on the computer.

I did some of that secret shopping when I was in school. The only problem was they couldn't give me enough hours.

Most places let you stack your runs - meaning you can work for more than one company at a time. Most deal with certain vendors. One might handle fast food places and another supermarkets. Right now there are about 15 places that are looking for shoppers too.

Any place that wants you to buy a book or pay for shipping / handling etc is a rip off. There are a ton of legit places that offer telecommuting (working from home) ranging from typing to data entry etc. Some of the larger order centers like JC Penny have about 60 % of the calls taken by telecommuters - and the customer service they get is excellent. I mean I would be in a better mood if I could work from home wearing sweatpants and a baseball hat then having to fight traffic etc.
