There is currently an interesting show on TLC about breast implants. There are several studies (over 4) that are showing that having breast implants significantly reduces your change of getting breast cancer. They have all been peer reviewed and are done by very respected groups. On the other hand, the main groups that claim that implants are bad, are mostly on the side of "science is bad" and that "medicine is wrong." This one woman claimed that having a dog and lettings its "life force" into her while she was holding it is what saved her arm. and they have lots of shots of chicks with bombs. ------------------ Build a man a fire, he is warm for a day. Did you know that out of the women who get implants x% of them have something go wrong with them.(cancer, other diseases etc..) BUT, the x% is almost the exact same for the general population of females. Forgot what my sources were, but I did a huge-ass report on this in high school cause this bitch in my class, was doing a report on how implants were the worst ever. I hated her. | ||

the show listed 4 studies that were saying that women with the implants actually had a lower percentage - and there were several studies done that proved it scientically on rats. normal rats when injected with a compound that usually causes cancer in rats, 60% got the cancer. the ones that had implants got cancer too - but only 11% of them. ------------------ Build a man a fire, he is warm for a day. just skepulation, I haven't seen any reports on this but...since tumors are just cells that do not stop proliferating, perhaphs its because breast surgury results in alot of tissue cells that scar. Scar tissue may be effect in such that it eliminates the possiblity for cellular regeneration???? Thus reducing the possiblity for breast cancer????.... | ||

perhaps shags - don't know. they were theorizing that it was b/c it is a forgein body placed in there, so your body attacks it and this alerts your immune system and they hang out there, so when they find other forgein bodies (cancer) - they are already there in numbers to get rid of it. there was a study that showed it was more related to the pressure of the implant combined with the atigens there. all pretty cool. maybe I'll get that implant on my forehead after all ------------------ Build a man a fire, he is warm for a day.
