i have always been a "stretch" type of guy when it came to range of motion... the typical bar to chest, DB presses wide of chest for extra range... shoulder DB presses down to shoulder level, super stretching on any flies i've done, military press behind neck low on shoulders, front military to top of chest... etc... you get the idea... now, i am finding my training is going MUCH better limiting my range of motion... i feel less injured (rotators) and i feel they hold me back less... i am not talking pussy bench press half way down... i mean for DB presses done to the chest, not past... DB's for shoulders to ear level.... fly exercises NOT going past my torso so i am not all stretched out... i think this keeps the tension on the muscle being worked and keeps stabalizer muscle use to a minimum, yet still working them efficiently... just not over doing it. what do you guys think? as you can tell i am starting to focus on training again... instead of just going through the motions. |
