I have REALLY just had things put into perspective. I thought my problems were big (see my other post). I call a good friend of mine from high school who I last spoke to around new years. I called to get advice about my breakup and basically have a friend there for me.

Turns out, my friend was told by doctors about a month ago that she has 6-8 months to live. She wasn't feeling well and went in for some tests. She had a spinal tap which showed she has cancer of the spinal fluid. She is 22 years old.

Please, if you have a moment, send some positive thoughts and energy to my friend. I believe very much in the power of prayer, and the more the better. Thanks so much.

My Grandmother is dying of liver cancer, caused by breast cancer. I pray all the time. There was a story of a little girl who was born with cancer of the eyes. Lost sight in one and a tumor in the other. Doctors wanted to start Chemo ASAP. Her parents wanted to wait 1 week. Prayed with family, church, friends, did the hands on healing. The baby went to the Dr. the next week and the tumor was gone. I can't remember which celebrity's child this was but it is a true story. Type out the first part of my post, by Robert Frost and give it to your friend so she may read it, I will pray for her. Much love, prayers and hope to you and yours. From my heart to hers. I'll keep her in my prayers...

A close friend of mine died my sr year of highschool. His death was a result of lung cancer that spread to his other organs. Everyday I think about him and often say this little prayer.

"God you don't always tell us why you take some and not others. At times it isn't always clear what your plans are for them, until we realize that maybe your plan for them is really about helping the rest of us. We can't always judge the impact these special people leave on our lives until they are gone. Let us not forget to be appreciative and thankfull for the time you allowed us with them, and give them special thanks for enriching our lives a little more. All we can hope and pray for is that the pain of their suffering wasn't to great, and that the pain their loved ones feel can one day be healed. May you watch after them as they continue to watch after us.....

Thank you, KC and TX. It means a lot to me. KC, I will pray for you grandmother. I will pray for your friend as well, TX. I don't believe prayer is only for the embodied!
