Ok to make a long story short. I have 1 roomate I suspect has been stealing from me...Specific items that none of our other roomates know about or they would shit a brick and to the point I couldn't report to the cops...Keep in Mind my lease doesn't run up till Aug. And a fair estimate would be close to $300 bucks. He has no Car, and not shit for personal items...Only thing of real value he has is a Sega Dreamcast. I haven't yet approached him and I'm ready to inflict some serious damage. Any ideas on confronting him?     | ||

Tell him to stop jackin your shit, and you better have proof. If he denies it jack his dreamcast and pawn it for like $20 or whatever they go for. Get a lock on your door (I did) and lock it everyday. I had a fucken roomate passed out on my bed all drunk and shit, messin around on my computer, answering my phone, diggin into my herbal broccoli it was a mess. Leave small shut out like gum, beer, candy and see if it disappears. If you could even catch him in your room you could ask him wtf he is doing. Nobody should fuck with you or your stuff espacially where you live. Call the rental company and ask them what they can do. | ||

Psyco said it best, set some bait and hide a video camera, THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM. Because he will deny it to the end unless you have proof like this. My old roomate stole 600$ out of my savings account--- he looked over my shoulder and got my pin #, then stole my check card and emptied my acct-- I told him I was going to the bank to view the camera in the ATM and prosecute the fuck out of the culprit. He then realized he was fucked and tried to play it all off as an accident. Anyways, I made sure I got all my cash back before I kicked his ass, I did and I did. This is why I do not have a roomate, you can't trust many people out there. set up a trap for him. ------------------ | ||

yeah I decided awhile ago I'm getting my own apt, I'm going to get a motion detector to set up on my door incase anyone tries to enter it....I think the little investment from Radio shack will be worth it | ||

TX, if you have proof that he stole from you, confornt him. I would say then throw him out - depends how well you know him. If he;s a friend and he's going through some hard times, maybe you don't throw him out. But if he's just an acquaintance or something.....get him out of there. | ||

no he's def not a friend...All of us here took pot luck with roomates, and I moved in back at the end of last summer...Problem with throwing him out is we all have individual leases, so I don't believe I could do that, and I thought about going to the apt mgt since they paired us all up, but we are in the process of taking legal action against them for busted pipes back in Oct and we aren't exactly on friendly terms... this is by far and away the worst living experience I have had....Thats why my next place I will be living alone... | ||

TX, If not a friend then get him out of there. If you can prove criminal wrongdoing then there may be some lease flexibility. Sounds like you really got screwed with the living arrangements. | ||

Well, if it makes you feel any better, this post made me decide NOT to get a roomate next fall. I heard a couple of guys at work tell me how they got fucked over in their previous living situations. I was sketchy, but now it's official. NO ROOMMATE FOR ME. thanks tx | ||

Yeah well I'm glad my missfortune is another persons gain. If I ever in my life have another roomate I'm going to make sure it's someone I would trust my life with. I have 3 roomates, 2 of them are super cool guys but the 3rd is just a piece of shit. That will teach me not to take chances like this again. I just got done moving my tv, movies, into my room and in the process of packing up my dishes...The 2 cool roomates don't use them so it's going to be the assholes loss...I'm going to make some Radio shack salesman happy today when I get a chance to stop by their store | ||

I'm a pretty open person and if I have something you want just ask. I give so much shit away but don't even think of taking my shit. Been in your place and I set the guy up. Put something out he just couldn't walk past. Then when it was gone I falt out asked him about it. He tried to say he didn't know. So I went looking for it and when I found it hide away in his shit he knew he had problems. I would try and tell the whole story but that would take way to long. In the end I got a shot gun stuck in my face by my own mother. Never did like her much anyway. Screw him - take it to his ass. | ||

Sneak in on him while he's sleeping and jam the barrel of a .45 into his forehead. When he wakes up, ask him if he feels where the barrel is touching, when he says yeah, tell him that is where the bullet is going to pop right through his fucking skull if he EVER fucks with you again. Let him sweat for awhile. Just don't say anything -- just mumble incoherently under your breath, maybe something about how it would be worth it to go to prison again. If he says anything scream at him to shut up. Keep a straight face so he can't tell what you're thinking. Go on like this for awhile, preferably until he is crying then tell him to leave now, don't let him take any of his shit. Problem solved. Print real bad counterfeit(but passable) and leave it out for him to the night before he goes to a big even or a club. Call the authorities and let them know you know something, but call from a pay phone way away from you campus and offer them know name. Don't call the local police. Get in touch with the FBI. Don't have any of the money at you apartment. |
