If you still look like your pic on Johnny's site you'll take your weight class here for sure. Welcome to town. Move soon so you can get acclimated to the heat. Advice - live in the Northwest, West, or Southwest part of town.

Used to live in Plano so I know the heat. I am selling my business to go back to work fulltime as I truly miss the everyday life and the friends you make. Being self employeed was fun but I work in my house and my pets now talk to me. (lol) Johnny I am no comp for you we have different tastes though right now I am bigger than you. (lol) Anyway I am leaning toward Austin and got a great offer there but will also consider Miami and Nashville.

I'm in San Marcos, but yes in general I do like the area. Pretty laid back and relaxing in my opinion...You have lived in plano so you know all about the hustle and bustle of texas cities, as well as the driving pitfalls. I think Austin roads aren't very good but it could be worse I think.

HAHA thanks alot Dave, u arent so exciting yourself until u come up with all these crazy stories flexed1 We both go to colleges out here, and that is our main concern for leaving, but the traffic is really bad depending on what part of the city you are in If u know where u are going to work try to stay within a few miles of that. I thought 12 miles to UT wouldnt be that bad BUT I WAS VERY WRONG. So, it just depends on where u live and what roads u will have to take or it will be misery. But there is a "nightlife" i suppose, if u are into that. I have nothing to say about it or other forms of entertainment here. people here tend to be arseholes too ------------------

When I was going to UT first I lived on William Cannon, then I moved to 34th street, then I lived on Runburg and Lamar, I never thought traffic was that bad. I had a motorcycle too, so I might have just run around the traffic.

Traffic has gotten a lot worse in the past couple of years, and it's the number one topic government is trying to work on right now, but it's still not anywhere as bad as when I lived in New York or LA or San Francisco. Mainly avoid having to cross the river, there aren't enough bridges over the river to handle the peak load and everything backs up from there. Austin's great for anything outdoors related: swimming, sailing, biking, trail hiking, running etc. Nightlife consists mainly of live music bars with "the Austin sound" consisting of two guitars, drums, keyboard and singer in a "neuvo-country" style. Night life is dominated by the University of Texas student population ages 18-24. Lots of jobs, but the economy is slowing down, mainly high-tech. IBM, Intel, AMD, 3M, Dell, and Lots of lawyers and advertising. Lots of small theater groups, a symphony, an active opera season, etc...depends on what you're looking for. Probably a lot like Plano only hilly and more trees and more democrats.

Will look Northwest by Walnut Creek Park. traffic in orlando is horrible with all these freakin mickey mouse tourist. They give anybody a car here. Red means go really really fast. Dallas was twice as bad so I can't imagine Austin being worse but who knows. I am looking for the quality of life and make the salary that can suppourt it so I think Austin maybe fun as it appears to have culture something orlando can't spell.
