I'm buying a Subaru Impreza WRX in June/July. I was thinking about getting a set of 18" rims and Nitto tires but I have questions. How is the traction in snow? I drive in some nasty shit sometimes and would these tires even be useable? Keep in mind I will have AWD and this would help. What is the tread life on Nitto 555 tires? I won't be racing, only peeling out every now and then. If anyone has knowledge about this please reapond. ------------------

one question, why are you wanting nitto tires, a friend of mine has a pair on his mustang, i think he paid $130 a piece for them, pretty bad ass tires, i'm not sure what kind of nitto's they are, but if your just getting them for burning every once in a while, i would find some cheeper rubbers man, the tired are made for gripping, with the tires on there he could drop his clutch at 3000rpms and not even bark the tires, they would just grip like a M/F, anyways, for racing nittos are #1 but if your just gonna burn them (if you can HE HE ) then you might want to stick with a cheaper tire...........hope i helped, later

oh yeah i forgot, yeah they last a while, he has had them on there for about a year amd a half now, took them to the track 3 times, and burns the shit out of them all the time, but they have been balled for about 3 months now, and he still burns them, i mean the fuckers have looked like racing slicks for 4 months now and have not blown, so i would imagine there tough, and since they cost $130 a piece he's gonna drive them untll there gone LOL

I want Nitto because they are known for getting the best grip and I need the best grip. I tend to take turns much faster than the average person. In general, I want something that will stick to the road like glue. I guess I can always put winter tires on the factory rims and put them on when needed. |
