Anyone own one? Do you like it? details....details.....

------------------
"How can one respond to such unabashed adulation? While I certainly appreciate it, it does seem quite undeserved. Obviously Ranger has, through his sheer eloquence and bravado, created an impression of me that cannot be lived up to. In the face of such, I must withdraw. Peace" ---MACRPPHAGE69ALPHA

The details of my life are quite inconsequential....Vey well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly selfimproving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts for being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring wed make meat helmets. When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Wilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum...its breathtaking. I suggest you try it.

Like the Tanitas? or something else? My Tanita sucks .. I'm NOT 20% fat by anymeans! But I guess it's good for tracking changes since it always estimates my bf% too high.

Yes, the Tanita is a stand on .. about $120, they have scales that cost about $600 as well! But do I really need something that costs that much just to tell me I'm a fat ass?

everyone complains about the tanitas reading too high..mine reads too low. i know my bf % is higher than 4 or 5.

i use it more as a guage of progress...regardless of its accuracy, it IS at least consistent. if i measure myself at the same time every day i invariably get the same result. over the long term my percentage has shrunk, so at least that's good i guess.

Can't you just go by how you look and feel? Why spend that much money to pin down a number that is inaccurate?

bigsch...I usually do...however I wanna try some new things in my supplements and also note some changes in my female characteristics (breast size, loss of ovulation) at certain bf %, so just wondering since those would be easy, however if so inaccurate not benificial.

My, aren't we the scientist? I'm sure there are many willing parties on this board that would gladly volunteer their services in your pursuance of the scientific method. Are you now accepting applications? I also could be your own personal lab rat-if desired.

Junk the scale. I was interesting in it for dieting since I am a numbers person, but about a fifth of the people I talked to said it worked, while others said it was grossly innacurate. I use a particular bodyfat formula to gage my process; I find it very accurate for myself. (within 1-2%)

Those things are very inaccurate. When I was a sprinter I calipered at 7%, but got a reading of 29% on the Tanita scale (in athlete mode too). Meanwhile skinny-fat distance runners who would caliper at around 13% got 6% readings.
