went out to lunch with a friend. on the way back i got pulled over and got three tickets at once -- for going 70 on a 35mph zone, for not having my license with me and for not wearing a seatbelt. FUCK, FUCK, FUCK!!!!!!!! what can i do?    | ||

Every time i get a ticket, I send it in as not guilty and go to court. I have had 2 tickets that were over 500 bucks just dropped with no court date. And 3 others where I went to court, told the prosecutioner a good story and they were either dropped off my record or the fee was cut down by about 75%. ALWAYS plead not guilty and take it from there with motor vehicle tickets, 50% of the time it will just get dropped. A friend of mine had an $800 ticket for cutting off a cop car, causing the cop to get into an accident and the ticket was dropped with no court date. ------------------ | ||

Well, to put it mildly you are screwed. You are lucky you did not get arrested for wreckless driving, not having your license in your possession, and for not wearing a seatbelt. You may also have been arrested for criminal speeding (if your state has that one.) The cop does not neccesarily have to show up for court (again depending on your state rules) They should have a payment plan, diversion, or traffic school. You won't win this one at all. Take it from me I am an expert in this. Unless you strike up a deal with the DA, or the cop did the paper work wrong (highly unlikely) You are fucked! ------------------ | ||

Not that I would ever speed (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha) but when I would get pulled over on my GSX I would tell them I had diareah and needed to get to a bathroom quick. Most times they were in shock that I would admit something so gross - and so loudly on the side of the road - and let me go. You can also use this in court. "The crippling cramps were becomming unbearable Sir..." There's no excuse for the seatbelt thing but the DL could be overlooked.... When I lived in Arizona and got popped I took the option of idiot school. They show you movies of car crashes yada yada. and payed a lot less. But I screwed by the insurance co the following year. Grotto | ||

I have been to traffic court a few times and they always have some DA helper there offering to drop some of the points then you go to the judge, plead your case, and he decides the fines. Although one court I was in would not let you talk to either the cop or the judge and you were fined the tickets plus court costs. ------------------ | ||

Go see a lawyer. Go see a lawyer who has juice. I got busted on my Ducati a while back going 105 in a 45mph and driving on the wrong side of the road. Luckily, it was a motorcycle cop who was partially friendly so he didn't take me to jail. He did however, bust me in full. The lawyer got it all reduced to parking violations and I had to go to traffic school. In the end it cost me only $480.00 tickets, lawyer and all. I hate cops sometimes. I ride with a couple of them and as long as I'm with those guys we never get busted. The one time I wasn't I get nailed. Those guys have all the perks, a get out of jail card. Fuckers.....

Speeders! I am forever against them as they cost me my family at age 12. Both my parents were hit broadside by someone who was late getting to work. I lost my Mother, Father, but the worst was that I lost any satisfaction that my parents would have derived from my successes in growing up to be an adult as well as enjoying their grandchildren. When you brag about how fast you were going, evading the cops, etc. Remember that at some point an accident could happen and even though you would never want it to, a tragedy could occur. Yesterday a car wiped out 4 peoples' lives close to my town. the guy was speeding to get away from a cop in a stolen car-he had no prior record and was a member of his high-school football team. All that's left of the family is the Father, I pray for him and wish the speeder a life of eternal hell for all the suffering he has caused. Please be safe out there. | ||

I have my own situation. I parked at the Airport to pick up my Bro in December 2000, I left my car beyond(not in front of one) a handicap zone I come back 10 mins later, cause my bro plane was a 1 1/2 hours late. Got a ticket for $190.00, when in fact it should have been a $40.00 ticket if anything at all. The cop said are you a parking violation specialist, I said no and neither are you. See you in Court. For $190.00 I can certainly waste some of the officer and the Court's time. If they want it, they will just have to earn it. Most cops are only there for the percs of retirement. They get to fucking much as far as I am concerned. Let them be a box boy/girl in their retirement years. This was plain wrong, and since I am going to get a disabled parking permit due to a artificial hip and the right one has to be done as well. Real fun at least I will have the permit forever. Any Dr. who thinks that a artificial hip is not a disablity will be questioned as to why is not a disablity is a moron,since we all know the best you will ever have is the real deal, not just plastic and stainless. You should have had the belt on, no speeding, and if you had a accident you could have been fined very heavily. cm3504jm -- i'm very sorry to hear about your family. don't get me wrong though, i was absolutely not bragging about speeding. i usually don't speed much and don't have a particular love for speed. i was speeding because the fucker i was with had to take a test in ten minutes and he was asking me to take him to his school. | ||

There is no excuse for going 70 in a 25. No excuse for not wearing your seatbelt. I understand forgetting your license. I might be dead if it wasn't for the fact that I had a seatbelt on. I only got my head cut up, a concussion, and a fucked up shoulder instead. |
