Being aware that you will one day at an unknown time cease to exist and die will make you a much more happier and productive person. You will die and it might be very soon. Samarais (sp) were taught ealry on in there training to accept death and to think about it constantly. If you don't fear death, you have nothing to fear. I forget where it was but I think it was the Russians who invaded a tiny country who had no army to speak of, the country had no choice but to fight. Before the fight they held funerals for the young males who were still alive, reason being that they will certainly die and nothing is more deadly than a soldier/killer who has accepted he will die and just want to kill as many of the oposition before he goes. Think about death, all of a sudden office politics, gossip, affairs, and most of all what consumes us day in and day out become no longer important or even worth thinking about. If we can see the long term of our lives and know that death is not something bad or good but just a fact of life - I think most of us would make better deciscions and live life more fully. i have died 4 times and let me tell you it never gets easier. 3 of the 4 times have been from accidental drowning and the last one was when Wodin's wife pulled her panties down and showed me the very face of satan. | ||

Good stuff Slo... I love that part of 'Fight Club' when he burns his hand with the acid, explaining that to really live, you must KNOW, not think, BUT KNOW that one day you are going to die... I actually have a big round burn on my hand from putting out a stogie on it, and I was sober...Damn I'm obsessed with that movie! ------------------ | ||

Slo, Macanudo's are the shit...although I'm finishin' up a box of West Indies Grand Carmelas at the moment 'cause a college budget doesn't allow many luxuries... I've samples Partagas, Montecristo, Churchill, and a few others, but the Macanudo is always smoother and has less "after taste" as I call it... Do you buy yours off the 'net?? i've been obsessed with death all my life. even though i really enjoy my life and would not give it up willingly, i'm also looking forward to death. i think it will be the ultimate ecstacy. i'm scared of pain, of aging, and of illnesess, but of actually dying -- hell no. | ||

I am affraid of dying. All I think about is, what would my son do without a Mother. I think about it all the time but I am still affraid. My Grandmother is dying as we speak of liver cancer due to breast cancer. She is not affraid because all 7 of her children are grown and and most of the grandchildren as well and we can take care ourselves, loose ends are tied, nothing for her to worry about except for her health. She said that she use to be affraid but no longer is. I know that when I die I won't know the difference but what will my son be like, it makes me sad to think of it. I hope I live to be a very old woman with a huge family that loves me, that is what I want, not too much to ask for is it? I charish everyday with my son and family and I make sure that he knows that he is the most wonderful being in my life. God I love my kid!!!!! ------------------ | ||

Fight club changed my life. I can now say I don't really care about death, I will look forward to it, but before it happens some people will have to face the music. I now make soap for fat ladies who think it is the best they have used. Sell it for $10.00 a cake and scent it with ben-gay. |
