Saw it last night. Good action flick, acting not soo hot. BUT...the whole freakin' police squad is JACKED!! I was on a date seeing it and had to try and not too drool too much. It was VERY VERY nice...about time we have a movie with more then just a token few hot male bodies.

Only problem they made Seagal look old. But he's still awsome.

Michael Jai White.....shredded wheat baby

"How can one respond to such unabashed adulation? While I certainly appreciate it, it does seem quite undeserved. Obviously Ranger has, through his sheer eloquence and bravado, created an impression of me that cannot be lived up to. In the face of such, I must withdraw. Peace" ---MACRPPHAGE69ALPHA

The details of my life are quite inconsequential....Vey well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly selfimproving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts for being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring wed make meat helmets. When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Wilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum...its breathtaking. I suggest you try it.

Steven Segal is on my Actors that are indicative of a shitty movie list! Action movies without any depth are played.

I prefere the Lam. Diablo myself.

I like action films too. Yet the Steven Segal ones are just a formula without any substance. No style.

I actually like Seagal, but I won't defend his acting ability. It's all about the action...yeah baby! You can't go to one of his films expecting to see Hamlet.
I'm looking forward to seeing this one. I've heard good things about it.

Kevin Costner is an actor on my "No See List" I haven't liked him in anything. Dances with WOlves was ok though.

Shag, you mean you didn't like Message in a Bottle. I thought that was the ultimate "chic flick" even though I liked it too. Truthfully the movie was good in spite of him.

I like it too Shags, but he says the same thing every song. The man has no lyrical versatility or flexibility. There are guys on this board more lyrically gifted than DMX.

It's studio rap...MC Hammer without the dancing or the censor.

I'm sorry I think I must have misheard you. Did you just compare DMX to MC Hammer? Mat I don't think I've ever said or thought this about you before on what you write....but I think you might be wrong.

You said you like DMX, do you like MC Hammer?

Shags,

DMX and Hammer are both guys that are made for the studio. That's the similarity.

DMX will never win a freestyle contest. He doesn't have the versatility to be an excellent rapper except in the studio. All his songs tell the same story...he's prepackaged for consumer consumption.

In that way, he and Hammer were similar.

Every DMX song: "Look at me I got 4 felonies and I live by the code of the streets in Yonkers NY".

Real lyrical talents would be almost any member of WuTang, RedMan, Eminem, etc. The ycan do studio, but at a show they might just break out something no one has ever heard before. You never know what they might rap about.

DMX just isn't there.

ACTUALLY DMX HAS ALOT OF DIFFERENT ANGLES.HE DEALS WITH DUALITY OF GOOD AND EVIL IN MAN.STRUGGLING WITH RELIGION,FATE,LIFE.ALSO HAS SOME FUN SONGS THAT SOUND LIKE MOVIES,WHERE HE IS ON THE RUN.I ALSO ENJOY THE ONE WHERE HE ROBS A BANK.IN A WAY HE IS LIKE BIGGIE WHERE HE TELLS A STORY IN HIS SONG.ALSO I HAD THE CHANCE TO HEAR HIM FREESTYLE AT A CONCERT,LET ME TELL YOU,HE HAS THE VOICE TO HYPNOTIZE THOUSANDS.THAT DEEP DARK,SCREAMING GUTTURAL VOICE WITH POWER BEHIND IT.HE WENT ON FOR AT LEAST 20-30 MINUTES STRAIGHT WITH FREESTYLE.YOU MAY BE ABLE TO FIND IT ON NAPSTER,IF SO CHECK IT OUT.HE CERTAINLY ISNT A PRODUCT AS HE WRITES HIS OWN LYRICS AND DOES NOT REALLY FOCUS ON MATERIALISM LIKE CASH MONEY.ALSO,CHECK OUT BELLY,THIS KID HAS A PROMISING CAREER.

Steel...I too agree. I find his lyrics much more palatable than some others where every onther word if fuck, cum, bitch, etc.

And I too find his voice and music hypnotic and moving.

For the good interest of your argument Matt....I spent yesterday listening to all 3 of DMX's albums....and I hate to say it again....but you are wrong brotha.

He is not "prepackaged for consumer consumption" nor sings all the same songs. Quite the contray dear. Steel Beast perhaphs was more elequent in his prose on his comments on the artist, so please refere above. Now the argument on freestyle, I can't rightfully comment on for I've never seen him live.
