I was at the mall today and this chick came up to me and asked me if I had any spare change so she could get her son something to eat. Usually I ignore these people because of the high number of meth heads that pull this scam. Well, she had a kid - under the age of one - and it didn't look good at all. Totally droopy and in a daze. All I had on me was about 80 cents in change and two five dollar bills. I gave her one of the fives even though I should have marched over to Burger King and gotten her some food. Now I feel like complete shit because I gave her the cash and don't know if she'll really use it for food or not. I did see a SD officer and told him about her and the last I saw he was talking to her in the parking lot. I am the kind of person that tries to help everyone no matter how much it puts me in the hole - one of my bad points I guess. Sorry, I just had to get this off my chest - sorry if it sounds stupid to be upset over something so trivial. Please don't flame me - I was just trying to help... ------------------     | ||

I have and would have done the same thing, you are a good person who thinks of others. That is a strong attribute to hold on to. Don't feel like shit, if you do it will leave a bad taste in your mouth and you won't help others again for fear of felling this way. That was a good thing you did...I have turned down plenty of homeless people before since I would see alot of them sitting under an overpass drinking. I wouldn't turn someone down holding a kid even if there might be a chance they were faking it. You should feel proud because you left that choice to feed her kid up to her, after giving her the solution to that problem | ||
