who has a canon for an arm, not me? the furthest i threw a regulation nfl football was 40yds and the fastest I can throw a baseball is probably 70mph.(i am guessing about the baseball) i can throw a mean punch though.

I can throw a football very good, but throwing a baseball is a different story....needless to say when I play baseball I'm usually the DH.

I've got power, but that doesn't seem to correlate to talent at throwing. I do OK, but no great shakes. Kinda sucks having 140 lb. friends that can out-throw me :-(

I've tossed the football 50-55 yards before. I had a good arm in baseball as an outfielder, but it was irratic. It's all in the rotator cuff...

When I was in Babe Ruth (right before high school), I threw someone out at home plate and I was right against the wall (I had jumped up and grabbed it as it was going out) - don't know how many feet it was, but I remember it being far - over 200 I know.
In little league I was a pitcher and could throw over 80 (was clocked at a area college during a camp - I was the fastest at the camp for my age).
Then I got into track and never played baseball again - just as well, I couldn't hit for shit - I was so bad that I could only hit curve balls b/c they came in slower - everyone else could only hit the fastballs... I'm weird, what else is new.
In high school I could throw a football the length of the field, but then I put on pads and barely got it halfway - so much for the cannon if there are pads in the way.
and then I broke a guys nose playing water polo - he was trying to block the goal, I was trying to score - threw it as hard as I could.... lots of blood in the pool is a gross thing.

You are telling me that you could throw a football 100 yards? I think the greatest NFL qb's could throw it 85 yards, well so I heard.

I never tried throwing an NFL football but whatever the regulation highschool size in texas is I threw 1 my fr year of highschool 40yds

haven't been clocked throwing a baseball since I was 16 and was clocked at 83.

I couldn't throw anywhere near that far or fast now, haven't been conditioning for fb or baseball in years

The average man can throw a football 40-45 yards. The average NFL QB-60-65 yards.

I think Elway was measured at 80 yards on the fly once.

It's not only a measure of strength, but flexibility and coordination also.

Politics of our highschool baseball team and being told my Fr year by the #2 coach that I would never get a chance to play. His son and I didn't get along well and during basketball season we had a few altercations.

My pitching was as raw as it got, I mainly played 1st base and a little 3rd and outfield...I played in summer with my buddies from around the NW side of town that put together teams until summer before my Sr Year...Really just pickup games

At times I wish I would have tried playing my Sr. year cause the team won State and Recieved National Champ status by a few baseball publications...Its kinda cool seeing a few guys I grew up with playing pro baseball

Well being a QB for my entire life I have kind of always had a pretty good arm. I can put it up for 60-65 yds with accuracy. But it is my short game that I take pride in. Arena tryouts are on March 3. Workin hard I'll let you all know how it goes.

The coaches son and I actually cleared up our differences by our Jr year...We both decided it was bs that we were pissed at each other...Before we cleared things up we met up alone for some fisticuffs...He turned out to be a pretty decent guy when we cleared up all the bad air.

Last I heard he was Going to TCU (Texas Chicks Unlimited)

I love how this board immediately calls you a liar anytime you list some stat. if you don't believe me, that is fine as hell by me. I fully admit I couldn't throw it past half the field with the pads on - and there is no way I could throw the whole field if I was just standing there - I stood at the edge of one end zone and double stepped to the edge and threw it to the other one - it was high and arcing, a long bomb, and it went the whole way - could I do it over and over again, or in a game, no - but I did it that once. could I do it now - probably not, I haven't thrown a football since high school.

HAPPY- It may be posible. I coached a 5-6 yr old flag football team this year. We used well I forgot the exact size, but the point is that it was a very small football. It had good weight which made for some long passes from the coach. i only heived that ball around 80-85yds. Is it possible that you were not using a regulation high school ball? Thta is almost un heard of big guy.

i definitely would have to see it to believe it; maybe it was the ball you were using. i know i can throw a high school football further than a nfl football.

Randall Cunningham launched the pigskin 80 something yards at a QB challenge. He wasn't wearing pads. Elway used to rifle that ball in there hard as fuck.

It was was whatever ball we were using in practice that day. I was telling the quaterback he sucked (I was at end and didn't want to be there) - so he asked me to show him up - so I did. then I put on pads and couldn't do it (like I said, only half the distance). I would have sucked as a quarterback - without pads I could throw hard and/or far, but with pads and a line in front of me, I wouldn't have had jack in terms of completions.
Pitching in baseball though - I had 6 no hitters and one perfect game... then again, we all sucked back then (I didn't even play in high school - I was only playing in the kiddie leagues)

What's everyone's fastest mile? I ended up leaving all other sports to do track - went to states and stuff in that.

I use a .308 at a hundred yards for fun, everything after that is fair game.

I figure I should get a .300 win mag, good for 1000 yards. That is my idea of a canon.

Then it is my .357 a reasonable hand canon that should by most standards enought to knock down most targets. I can't handle the .44 mag, damn it is not as though I have not tried.

Was this a gun? Duh...

Happy I ran 4:27 was my best highschool mile did that during a 24hr mile relay. I was mostly a mid 4:30's miler, never could get my coach to let me train for the mile, since I usually scored points in the 800 running around a 2 flat. During track season I believe 4:28 or 4:29 was my best...Where are you from? my times never could get me out of district, usually a 4:25 with good weather would place someone top 3 where I was from

Had a workout in college where I ran a 4:30 and 4:34 during mile repeats and a 4:25 pre season time trial my Fr year of CC

TXCollegeGuy - my best mile was 4:20 flat - came in nearly last on my team - it was a practice in college where we ran intervals over the golf course and then finished the day with a mile time trial on the track - it was to show us that we were in good shape to finish hard. the next week we did the same thing but with a 5k on the track, I ran 15:45 - I was beat (tired). I ran a 4:30 for the last mile of a five mile (8k) race - but it was in franklin park (boston) and there is much debate as to whether that course is short.

in high school it was around 4:30 - I mostly did the 2 mile (9:38 in high school was my best) - I ran a 1:58 800 and that race was my fastest, and also the race I blew out my knee in - frustrating, was never as fast again.
and I went to HS in upstate NY in a small school.

I have terrible aim unless Im mad....my ex fiance pissed me off large one day and I threw a fork at him (purposefully missing)...imbedded into the wall a 1/2 inch from his face.

That ended him bitching me out pretty quick.
