i broke up with my girlfriend last night, i can say she was truly the first girl i ever loved, the reason i think was mainly because she's only 19, im 23, and she had just came out of a 2 year relationship before starting with me, she wants to be single and young for a while, which i understand, but she is the most beautiful girl, on the outside and inside and i love her too death, what really scares me is that i'm worried that once you've had someone as good as her you will never be able to find someone who could come close to comparing to her, nothing is ever going to be as good and that scares me.     | ||

Barney, I hear what you are saying, some years ago I was with the 'love of my life', she wasn't that committed though  To cut a long story short, she left me, I was gutted, but if you think about it how many women have you been with that you have felt nothing for? How do you think they felt? It's hard I know, I still think about Paula even now.. | ||

you know Smash i really hate when i think how i treated some of the girls in my past, one girl in particular i think will have a curse on me for the rest of my life for what i did to her,the worst thing when we broke up she used the line ' you'll make some girl really happy someday' ....like i didnt know that, im not suffering from any self-esteem problems, but when she said that it sounded so pitiful. | ||

Slick,when we first got together she wasnt interested in anything serious as her previous relationship she felt she had misseed too much of her youth, after a month or so we decided we were both serious but i think i may have really been the only one serious | ||

If she isn't ready for a relationship yet then it's no good begging her back. You may have loved her but you won't ever be happy in a relationship if she doesn't have the same love for you. Imagine if you stayed together and years down the line she felt this way or even worse marriage or children are involved. At least she has not let it drag on and stayed with you just to have a man as some women do, then years later got fed up. If it is meant to be she will come back after you but personally I'd be looking for a girl that loved me and was prepared to make the commitment that I was. Don't worry there's plenty more. You may just have to put up with a few that don't seem right until you find a good one. | ||

i know i cant have her back , she would be a bitch to me and walk over me and then i'd start to hate her, i guess your right strength, there are plenty of fish in the sea, i was just hoping i guess that it was the last time i would need to go fishing. | ||

I think many of us have been in your shoes at some time. It hurts but we all survive. You will likley always hold a part of her very close to you but things eventually get better. Good Luck | ||

Well Barney, I'm going throught the same shit right now. My girlfriend told me she wanted to slow things down and she wasn't ready for a serious relationship now. All this after I wanted to slow things down a few months ago because she was getting really serious and was basically ready to marry me. Talk about a rollercoaster, I still don't know what she's going to do from here. The only thing I have found to help so far is to hang out with friends... | ||

I went threw with this same shit about a year ago...The girl of my dreams was all ready to marry me, and then from out of no where it was over. Go figure, at least I didn't give her the Engagement ring...I think about her everday and pretty much resolved now that unless some miracle is performed by whoever I might date in the future I do not want to get married... I think everyone goes threw this unless they are extremely lucky, but like my grandfather once told me "Every man's journey takes him down a different path" | ||

an update for you Thick Dog, went out last night to the club, she was there and we we soon established we were still really good friends, i had earlier been flirting with this hotty i hadn't seen in a couple years. So my ex and i are at the bar and this other chick comes up to us, co'come up to the dance floor with us babe', so im like i'll just grab a water and see u in a second.
