I recently finished my second and LAST cycle. I didn't notice them during the cycle, but during the first two weeks after I was off, some really ugly stretch marks on my chest and armpits started to appear. They're bright red and really disgusting. I'm incredibly depressed right now. I worked incredibly hard to make myself look better, and now I don't even want to take my shirt off because of these things. Please, please, please!... somebody tell me that there is something I can do to make them go away. thanks.

I have more stretch marks than anyone on this board guarenteed. it sucks, nothing will help. vit E and cocoa butter keeps the skin moisterized but really does not help all that much. ------------------

Valdez, Are yours bright red, too? If they won't go away, is there anything that will make them less noticeable? thanks.

GEEZUS - I think I oughtta have a webpage dedicated to this subject. I have answered this question THAT MANY TIMES! NO, THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT STRETCHMARKS EXCEPT HAVE THE SKIN WITH THE DAMAGE SURGICALLY REMOVED - PERIOD. YES, THEY WILL FADE WITH TIME. AND NO, NO GIRL WILL GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT THEM....ALL SHE WILL CARE ABOUT IS THE ROCK HARD, DENSE MUSCLE UNDERNEATH! I have more than my share (4 kids in 5 years) and I have yet to see anyone on the beach run from me screaming in horror. In case you are wondering, the majority are on my abdomen and hips so ain't no dental floss bikini gonna hide that shit....and yes, that is what I usually wear - NEVER A ONE PIECE! ------------------

Sorry about posting an old topic, but I really do appreciate your advice. I guess I would feel better, if I had made tremendous gains. I'm bigger, that's for sure, but I don't really look huge. Plus, I've put on a little fat. I thought I was keeping a good diet and training intensely, but I'm not 100% thrilled with the results. And then, the stretch marks on top of it... well, it's just got me depressed.

Baby it is all good (sorry to bite your head off). You have to take it all in stride, there is an upside and a downside to everything in life. Take a look at what you did (cycle, diet, training, etc) and reassess it thoroughly. Ask questions, keep the good and discard what did not work FOR YOU. This is a gradual process and we have ALL LEARNED from our own fuck ups. Don't be so hard on yourself....or I will have to bitchslap you! ------------------

Thanks. But, how come the only people who want to bitch slap me are called "mom"? Seriously, I know you're right. I'm going to take a couple of weeks off and then focus on leaning up for summer! Hopefully, by then, I'll be so ripped, no one will even notice those marks!

If its really that big a deal, wear makeup over it, I know thats what they give women to cover up the scars after breast implants, otherwise get tan and ignore it, I do. At least you know you grew

Last Spring after I dieted down from 230 to 215 I noticed stretch marks I had were getting insane, I just dont worry about it now...If anyone isn't smart enough to figure out how I got them I just tell them a little fib and call them old battle scars, it usually gets their eyes pretty wide then I tell them "You should see the other guys..."lol...man just suck it up and throw your balls into the wind. It's a sign to everyone who is serious into lifting that you are making gains. Very few people can go threw without getting any stretch marks so it's ok. Tanning and vitamin e oil helps soften them up a bit...Mine get bright red when I'm not tanning and since it's been over a month now without tanning they still aren't that bad yet. So try that Bikini mom is right if you want them removed you have to go see a Dr. for Surgery

L-- I really don't understand you sometimes. You're disappointed with your results?! How much bigger did you want to be?

CollegeGuy - So they got worse when you dieted? I always thought that stretch marks come from growth (stretching), but i noticed them after my cycle when I started to lose the water weight. any idea why that is? thanks.

To be honest with you I haven't stopped to logically think about the science behind stretch marks...But For me tanning and adding vitamin E oil got rid of the redness, so to me it looks much better....Remember Most of us here have gone threw this and we proabably would agree that we are better off from this. Since our goals in general are to get more muscular. Try tanning for awhile and after about 1 month see how you feel about the stretch marks.

Noway Jose'-stretch marks appear at weight loss, especially in preg women. I had a 10.6 lb strapping young man 10 yrs. ago! After tightening up and tanning they DO FADE! Who gives a shit anyways! They will not be red/purplish forever, they lighten up and blend into your skin tone. I was 105lbs. when I got preg. and was 170 lbs. when I had him. I lost all the weight in 3 1/2 weeks. Most of it was water weight and all in the front. I looked like a toothpick stuck in a watermellon. Lotion helps but they do their own thing in time. Keep it tight! And no I DID NOT deliver naturally thank you God!!!

401 - I seem to be frustrating everyone tonight. first Bikinimom and now you! I don't know exactly how to answer you. The truth is, it's not about numbers for me. I've worked hard in the gym and I want to be noticed for it. Right now, I don't think people would necessarily notice. Look, I've always been a nerdy academic type. Five years ago, I weighed 165 - at 6'2", I was a stick. I got up to 215 naturally, but even now, I still see myself as that scrawny guy who never left the library. I just want to be big enough that when I look in the mirror, I don't see that scrawny guy anymore.

the reason they look worse when you diet is because your skin is not as tight, you lose some subcutanious BF and they are more noticable. the cool thing about stretch marks is they appear on the inside of the limbs mostly so they aren't very noticable in public. new girlfriends never seem to really care as bikini mom said, they like the muscle. I can say that I would rather have a woman with a nice body than shapeless with good skin. ------------------

L-- You're not frustrating me. I just don't understand why you seem to be frustrated at yourself. First, I thought you said you got up to 240 on your bulking cycle (or am I getting you confused with someone else?) Second, even if you didn't get up to 240, you've made very impressive progress -- better than the majority of people on this board, I think it's safe to say -- and I think you know that -- otherwise, you wouldn't have posted your stats several times. Third, I know what guys look like at your school, and I know you're bigger than 99% of them. Which brings me back to my genuine mystification at what it is exactly that you're trying to achieve. If you're trying to look good, then I can't imagine why you aren't satisfied to some extent at your current progress, especially within your context. On the other hand, if you're trying to get as big as possible, I wouldn't think you would be as concerned about hair loss, stretch marks, etc. I'm not trying to be critical. Personally, I would love to have gotten the results you've earned. I just feel like something isn't adding up here.

401- 1. I was just saying that I got to 215 naturally, before I started AAS. Yes, I did get above 240 briefly, but I crashed pretty hard and now I'm about 230-235 at 17-18% bf. As I mentioned, I am 6'2" so I certainly don't consider these numbers particularly impressive. 2. I don't recall that I've posted my stats several times. The only time I remember posting them was on the anabolic board, and I was asking for diet and cycle advice. Since bodyweight is a significant factor in establishing a diet and drug regimen, I thought these stats were relevant. You misunderstand me, if you believe I posted them for some ulterior motive, or that I'm secretly happy with my results. If I was, I'd have posted my pic and sent you my phone number by now ! 3. I may have posted my stats, but I don't believe I ever posted where I am enrolled. That is a lapse in judgement of which I hope I was not capable. However, while it is true that I am bigger than most of my peers, I certainly don't judge myself by them. By their standards, exercise of any kind demonstrates an abhorrent interest in corporeal reality. Instead, I judge myself by an ideal that I visualize in my head - bigger than a Men's Fitness model, smaller than a professional bodybuilder. My frustration stems from my chronic inability to attain this ideal. I have made some progress, but not what I had hoped. I look better than I did, but I still don't feel like I'm someone who would be noticed in a crowd. I am a bit compulsive and when I set my mind on something, I am frustrated when I fall short of my expectation. I hope that is not too unreasonable. And, as I said before, I still see myself as the same scrawny kid who was ignored or bullied through most of his life. I would have accepted my battle scars more willingly if I had won the war. Instead, I still feel that my goal continues to elude me. I suppose this sounds shallow. But you know what Oscar Wilde said, "Only the shallow know themselves." Some cardio and a little waste size loss has made the marks a little less noticeable on the waste, but for the chest and arms, they are still there but are not that noticeable. what if a girl has them on her chest? what causes that? Dont understand it

you could try some retin A cream on them. Also when I take ZMA I don't seem to get them as bad...I think the zinc helps some.

OK. I didn't mean to be intrusive or play analyst and I don't know what school you're at but I know what the New England student population looks like in general. I just wanted to bring out the fact that you've made a lot of progress and have genuine accomplishments to be proud of. I hate to see people focus so much on how much they missed their goal that they give short shift to how far they've come. Check your mail.
