It is illegal. There is alot of, apparantly, seed houses in Vancouver and god knows where else. Seeds aren't illegal. There have been a few, I mean few, cases that have been allowed to use Mary Jane for medicinal purposes. | ||

I saw a show on broadcast TV about our friends to the north. The cheif of police in Vancouver, BC basically said this: We have murderers, rapist and robbers of all kinds and he further stated that this is not a problem for him to let it go. I think he is right. I think it should be legal, period. After all the Government subsidized tobacco and killed one fuck load of people with it, so screw what the Government wants. Hi It could be totaly legal in Ontario in about 5 months time. First you have to realise that in Canada, crime is federaly regulated unlike the USA where crime is legislated by each state. Last year the Ontario supreme court ruled the It figures that long after I gave it up that | ||

The Vancouver Police Department has a tolerance and containment policy. The tolerance policy is what enable most vancouver citizens to walk around a smoke a joint on their own property, the containment policy is the area East Vancouver , which is pretty much concentrated on East Hasting, Maine ST, here they try to keep all the drugs in one area and focus on the bigger issues such as health of users and rehabilition which is pretty much a waste of time when you have that amount of crack dealers in such a small area. it a pretty funny place van, where else can you walk out the front door of the police station and have someone come straight up to you and offer you crack or weed....i loved it... | ||

As far as I know in Ontario amounts under one or two grams are considered personal use and is not a federal offense anymore; it's been reduced to a fine rather than court and jail. Still goes on your record though as far as i know....sale thereof and posession over what was stated above is still shit creek though. | ||

I havn't smoked it over 15 years, so it makes no real diff to me, but I really honestly believe they will stop prosecuting for holding. Legalising and stopping to prosecute are two very different things. We cant legalise without breaking an international treaty. But the option to not prosecute, or make available for medical need is legal, and within the bounds of the treaty. This all started when medical weed was chalenged but it will be legal for all people who smoke if the goverment doesn't return a ruling within the given time period.
