Well they say anyone who has a bike will go down on it at least once. My one time happened this weekend. Bike is pretty fucked up, gonna cost I guess between 1g-2g$'s which is shitty considering Im trying to get some cash together for a down on a house. Ok the events as they transpired:

Slopain and 3 other homies all who own sportbikes were fuckin around on the freeway crusing at speeds in excess of 120mph, Slopain is on the 22 fwy east we needed to get on the transition the the 57fwy North (both are major fwy's 4-5 lines or so each way) I havent been able to ride in a while due to recent rains. Anyhoo Slopain is taking a sweeping left onto the transition from the 22 to the 57 and am in the right lane entered at speeds of about 60mph well I had a homie on the right who got me a little nervous so I took the turn high (stupid mistake) in order to give my buddy some room - well Im not sure if it was because of the rains or whatever but I hit a loose gravel patch and the bike slid out from under me I think I was going between 40-50 mph at the time, my friend missed me and off I go sliding towards the freeway wall with my bike following me, next thing I know I hear some screeching breaks luckily the truck that was behind me was paying attention and saw the whole thing so he was able to stop before killing me. When I finsihed sliding a got up in a hurry (was dissorientated and didnt want to get hit by any cars). The guy in the truck got out and asked me if I was ok I was kind of rude but not on purpose just b/c I was kind of in shock. I saw blood all over my bike and started to check myself out - I was wearing a full faced expensive helmet which I thank God for no marks on my head, my arms and legs were ripped up kind of nasty blood dripping everywhere. Well I decided to get the bike out of the freeway so I pick it up scared as a mofo to ride it but I had to AAA doesnt deal with bikes and I am technically not supposed to be on the freeway (permit vs license thing) lucky for me a cop cruised by when I was on the ground and just kept on going - gotta love em.

Jump started the bike back up and rode it home at 60 mph the whole way, I was a little timid about the bikes condition (I had to steer right to go straight alignment all fucked up). Got home and tha pain settled in I must have fucked up my eg pretty badly I cant really bend it and its swollen as a mofo, it looks like its fractured or something, but I think if that was the case I would know for sure - Im going to wait a few days and see what happens. Well thats what slopain was up to this weekend.

Damn, that sucks. Hopefully, you'll get better in a hurry. Those bikes can be pretty scary sometimes. I know I'm too much of a pussy to ever sit on one.

Glad to hear you for the most part okay.

As a Veteran of dozens of motorcylce accidents(most on closed course race tracks) and 2 on the street, a good set of leathers with hard armor is REQUIRED. Vanson and Z-leathers make the best. Compared to skin graphs Leathers are dirt cheap.

Also your helmet is probably toast, even though it may look OK the protective material inside it is now compressed. GET A NEW ONE.

Let me know what you wanna do about the bike, I got a ton of places I use for aftermarket replacements that will save you $$$$.

Sorry to read about your incident. Sounds like you are a very lucky man! You've got more balls than I do to ride on the LA freeways. I'd see the doc if I were you.
Get better and get in the gym!

hey slo sorry to hear of your setback... I know exactly were that happened, quite a few years ago prior to the building of the wall on the right hand side of the exchange I got sideways in my mustang and put it into the ice plant that used to line the right side just past the turn, I thought I could take that turn faster than I did, ended up stuck in the ice plant a tow truck had to pull me out. I know how you feel I couple of years ago in the same place but coming from the 57 to the 22 west I skipped my kawi ZX7 down the exchange with me following behind it on my ass,,, I must have left about 4 inches of ass cheek on that exchange ramp, as bad as that hurt it was nowere near the pain I felt when the nurse scrubbed the newly collected asphalt out of my ass...good luck on your recovery...

Damn that sucks Slopain. I've had my share of on and off track wrecks. Got to www.2wf.com and go to the classified section. You should be able to find a lot of R6 bodywork.

I'm still repairing my ZX7 that I highsided in the rain. That was fun. Slid down the road about 75 ft and the bike went about 100 ft. Luckily I was far enough ahead of traffic to not get run over.

Don't let it discourage you. If you ride you will crash. It happens. That's why I spent alot of money on a Dainese jacket, boots, gloves and a good Arai helmet. I wear full one piece leathers on the weekends and of course on the track.

If you can't find any parts give me an email at [email protected]. I know a few people.
