It seems all this does is find the best Napster server for you- which obviously doesn't work when Napster has a stab wound to the chest and is gasping for air- am I missing the point? ------------------     | ||

Napster may or may not be done. It is definitely not gone for good. Someone just bought Napster for like 30 million and I doubt they will give up on it. Actually, I know they are planning on making it a pay for use service with money going to record companies. I don't know how exactly this will work but Napster is far from dead. Napigator will remain useful. ------------------ | ||

Napigator is a whole different network of servers that have nothing to do with napster, look at the Network list, some of them are OpenNAP, some of them are NAPMANIA..etc Each different network is gonna have a different bunch of files shared, so if you can't find anything on OpenNAP, connect to another network and search through that... | ||

Try gnutella. OpenNAP -and it's variants- tends to have limited amounts of music to search. | ||

there are a lot of gnutella versions out there though, gets confusing. I like just one version get everything. Its like linux or something | ||

With Napigator you'll still be able to use the Napster program even after they shut down their servers. All of the OpenNap servers will stay up. I like it because you can usually get alot more results back then I ever did at Napster. | ||

here is my question... do i need to download a napigator program? and how then do i use napster? when i connect, it connects to napsters server, so how do i make it connect to napigator? | ||

MB, when you get Napigator it looks for all of the servers on the net including Napsters servers and OpenNap servers. You wait until it polls the servers to see which one is best for you(low ping, # of users, amount of files, etc). When you find the one you like double click on that server. Napigator loads the Napster shell program and connects to the server you picked, it doesn't have to connect to a Napster server. |
