Don't want to flame you Big Buck, but I can't help but see that you have mentioned on two different threads that you kicked some ass this weekend. I'm just curious if that is the demeanor of a lot of people on this board. To go out and look for a fight. Is that the reason y'all lift. Personally, I lift to better myself, for myself. Meaning, I want to look better so I can attract more women and feel more confident of myself. By being more confident it doesn't mean that I am looking to kick ass. Generally speaking, if you are a good person I don't think that is your nature. Grant, Buck says someone hit his car which resulted in pulling over, a thug got out of his car and started talking shit, and Buck proceded to whoop ass. How big are you Buck? So, let me tryand understand this. Someone hit your car, and once you both pulled over, you remained calm, in your car while some little bitch got out of his screaming and yelling at you, so you had no other choice but to get out of your car and whoop ass? Is that what happened? I'm not trying to flame you Buck, I'm just trying to understand your lifting desires. Is it so you can go around smashing people smaller than you all the time? Fighting doesn't impress me, if I am in a situation that I have to fight, I lift, and therefore can defend myself, but I don't walk around being Billy Badass all the time, looking for people to pound on. Just because your big on the outside, doesn't mean you can't be soft on the inside bro.

Yeap, pretty much. He should have never started talking shit. I've always been a fighter, used to kick box, and I'm in the Marines now. I have a short temper and him and his friend set it off. Plus, he swong at me first

dude lifting has zero to do with fighting. His lifting desires?? I can tell you cuz I know the guy somewhat he lifts to make it easier to pimp fine ladies - whether thats altruistic enough or no - doesnt matter thats what he does.

Lifting doesnt mean you can defend youself, in my experience it means you think you can fight until you get in a fight with a 'fighter' who is 50 pounds lighter who could kick your ass.

I know at least for me the bigger I get the more 'eyes' I get from females and guys and the ones coming from the guys are like 'you think your tough huh?' looks, and I dont swagger around - Im not timid - but I dont try and look hard or nothing. I think some people see it as a challenge, if your big they want to see if they can take you. whatever its just crazyness anyways.

Big Buck is in the Marines as was I. We fortunately don't and won't take shit off of no one unless it is deserved on our part.

That is the nature of the beast as well. Especially since he is in Recon.

So be kind to a fellow Marine!

I live in Phx and work in Mesa where you at?

Don't get me wrong guys, I am fucking crazy! Grant, I'm not a Marine, but I blow up to. Last time I beat some ass was about three weeks ago. I was outside a grocery store and this guy almost hit me in my new car I had just bought about 2 weeks before that. When we got in the store we ran into each other. In the store we have a verbal argument, but he pussed out. I was peaking on a 8 week cycle, one to be reckoned with. I got mad really easily, turned violently red and looked like I would have eating my grandmother's heart. Well, when this poor bastard leaves the store, I watch him through the window. The stupid fuck had the balls to go and puncture my tire with a knife. Oooohhhh, it got ugly alright. Then, even though this dumb son of a bitch did that, who was the one detained by the Police? Bullshit I tell you!!! Still haven't gotten the $200 that fucking tire cost me. So, I'm not anti-fighting, I'm a novice street fighter, with some mild grappling experience... I just don't go looking for it. But, in this instance with Buck, it relates to the last ass whooping I had to administer, I was just trying to know what you guys think about fighting and how you react to people.

I could buy a nice car or a shitty house on what fighting has cost me.

For a while I would aviod it at all cost because I don't like the view on the other side of the bars.

On that note with age I have found ways to verbally convince people that thier life is in jeopardy. It is better for me to scare someone. Than to physically beat thier ass.
The fact that they knew you could and coward is a much better feeling I think.
You basically own thier ass and you never touched them.

Ya me and dread got off on the wrong foot, but we're cool now. I would never cut or shoot anybody unless my life depended on it, but a good ole scuffle most likely would not kill anybody. Sure scares people when the wake up from being choked though.

Always remember, its not the ones who talk about beating people up that you have to worry about. Its the ones that dont talk about it that are really dangerous.

No offense to the Marines on this board, but since when does being a Marine make you a great fighter. I must admit that the Marine mentality is very impressive, but in my opinion the Marine hand-to-hand combat training is not. Marines are incredibly sharp and focused mentally, but their actuall fighting technique is nothing to write home about. If we're talking about knives and guns that's a different story, but I don't see how so many Marines can believe they are the worlds most lethal fighters.
I hope I didn't offend anyone, but I find that this is true with many service men, especially Marines.

Damn Jar heads. My dad was one and he is still 53 years old and still takes no shit off anybody. He also has a finance degree(ie smart man), but the man will punch anybody that mouths off and not think twice. He will get killed someday, or at least I keep saying that. Has been hit in the head with a baseball bat. I picked in up a jail that night.

I'm a RECON Marine, we're trained to kill, not to sit there and duke it out with a guy...with that being said, they teach us great hand to hand, plus I have a kickboxing background. The MSG program also teaches u pressure points. The Marine Corps actually has a new martial arts program that's pretty descent. But like I said, we're trained to kill, plain and simple

Trained to kill?

With weaponry I can agree, but do you think it is actually that easy to kill someone in a street fight that is not only a better fighter, but is aware of your every move?

Your comment about being taught pressure points makes me wonder just how good the hand-to-hand training can actually be. Pressure points (except for the obvious: eyes, throat, and groin) never work in a heated high adrenaline fight.
I do not for one second doubt you as being trained killers, but I don't see how you all swear to be so effective in 1 on 1 weaponless situations.
If you guys were so incredible, then most of the worlds greatest fighters would be ex-marines.

Newbies -
The talker is the one you don't worry about when you are sizing up a group.

I know what I'm talking about - I ran collection for along time and never had to dump anyone. I can never remember even raising my vioce. Its not always what you say but how you say it.

Road rage story -
Buddie of mine was ragin on this guy on the highway. They went back and forth a couple time. Finally they pulled over. The other got in his trunk and digging something out. My friend opened his trunk to get something. He turn around and the guy was advancing with a sword. Stabbed his ass in the leg. I laughed my ass off when he told me. Happened years before I met him but shit.

Shit - you never saw a Clint film.

Yea everyones a tough guy these dayz...
I just hate it when people question why
your in the gym for..
If your in there cuz you want to get bigger to hold your own in a fight then ok.
If your in there cuz you want to improve your appearance to impress the ladies then ok.
Fact of the matter is that everyones in the gym for different reasons, people should respect that.
haha I dont know what that has to do with fighting.
