She is adorable.
Are you going to have her ears cut? I had my Doberman's cut at about 4 months old.....spent several hundred dollars and they never stood up straight......he was a very loyal, loving dog, died at age 11 from testicular cancer.

So, now I have a Rottweiler named Pandora who just gave birth to her first litter--------->TEN puppies......I think she was as surprised as I was.

If you have Dixie's ears cut I'd ask to see pictures of the vet's work......and there are several differant cuts they can do....I picked the shortest and the ears still didn't stand.

I wouldn't say for my "pleasure" is why I had my dog's ears cropped. I am leaning toward "traditional" and I'm not sure that is such a good word to describe it either.
So.......let me explain.

A Doberman is a breed of dog specifically breed for personal protection and they have the ability to bond closer to their owners than most other breeds that I have known.

There should not be anything extra on a fit, healthy Doberman that can be grabbed by an attacker (no loose skin or flews, no long tail, hair or ears). This is to the Doberman's advantage much like some boxers/wrestlers shave their heads.

In my personal opionion, having the ears cropped makes a more attractive dog...visually. And the sleek design of the body, black or red in color.....can be intimadating to people......which is what most owners of this breed is looking for.

I'm going to play the role of a Greenpeace asswipe.

So how often is you dog going to be in fights? Maybe you should shave you head and trim you ears so I can no grab them.
