As you may or may not know, ol Slopain is in the market for a house (first time homebuyer) so Im saving up some money and looking right now, if I find a place I can put the down on it within a month and snatch it up. However, I want a Rolex too, I want to know how much you all paid for yours, Im thinking if I can get one for around 3-4k I might just do it. A bunch of my homies got them, but I didnt ask them how much they paid. I am in love with the platinum/silver/whitegold (not sure which all I know is it looks silver) ones. Any info appreciated. I wouldn't mind if AFTER GIVING ME SOME INFO you then proceeded to tell me how dumb it would be to buy a roley before the house (which might get set back a month due to the purchase - maybe). ------------------ For a good time click here: Search and Profiles (300Kleens Board)

I got a used silver Datejust with a Royal blue face for $2K. They tell time like shit and you have to set the fuckers everyday because they are perpetual.

Jewlery, Not watches. Is there slogan, I would buy a MErcedes cuz its any better at getting me from A to B, I do not buy a roley to tell time better (I mean who needs a watch anyways - the time is everywhere, cell phone, car, office) its jewelry. Sorry but thanks for playing, please try again. ------------------ For a good time click here: Search and Profiles (300Kleens Board)

$3200.00 for Stainless Steal and Gold(Jubilee) band with Date Just gold face. A nice used one in Dallas goes for anywhere from $2200 to 2800.00. I believe a gold on gold band new is running $5000.00 in this area. Diamond bezel Presidential is running about $10,000.

Hey Thick, my dad gave me his old date just and it does not keep time worth shit either. About every week or so it gets a few minuts off.

I also like pocket watches. They are my favorites. [This message has been edited by fistfullofsteel (edited February 12, 2001).]

If you get the stainless steel, you can always trade up later. You can get teh steel for about 4K. The top of the line Masters Edition (I think that's what they call it) is like 65K.

My fav is the Submariner. Bought mine used 3 yrs ago for $1500. Has the Oyster heavy band also. I own about 5 of them. Purchased from ebay, www.bernardwatches.com (in Dallas) and a pawn shop. All have been authenticated. You have to watch out for fakes. Some can be pretty hard to tell. If real, always buy used. let the other guy pay for the depreciation.

I know alot about Rolexes as I rock a platinum Presidential with custom multiple diamond bezels and iced out band. I dont really want you to know how much I paid because it was alot. Sometimes I wish I hadnt had it made because of all the attention I get because of it. I will tell you this however, you wont believe how many poor, ignorant people ask you 'Is that real?' I feel like punching these haters in their balls for implying that I cant afford a Rolex. Anyway, be ready for all the haters.

The double tick used to be an old way to check if it was real, but I would think by now the counterfeiters have that down pat. [This message has been edited by Checkmatebloated (edited February 12, 2001).] |
