Tonight's LA xTreme vs. Chicago Enforcer's XFL game has been quite possibly the most entertaining football game I've ever seen. For those of you XFL bashers out there, please be so kind as to kiss my ass. =)

Yeah, alot better than last weeks. That hit in the beginning where the returner flipped in mid-air was cool.

I'm not a big football fan but on occasion I 'll watch it. But, I don't know what're the differences between the XFL and the NFL?

May,

The difference between XFL and NFL is that the NFL is a well established league with overpaid players. The XFL is a brand new pro football league started by the evil genius Vince McMahon. Critics believe that this league is a joke and will not go anywhere. They believe that the players are unskilled and that it's just another writeoff for McMahon.

What do *I* think is the difference between the NFL and the XFL?

The XFL has been more entertaining over the past few weeks (not including the NY/NJ vs. Las Vegas game, of course) has been exceptionally entertaining - much more so, to me, than any NFL game I've seen.

To each his own, but you can't just go around bashing a league without reason just because it's new.

Now if only they'd go to 3 downs and a bigger field.

So, the rules are the same too? If so, what makes the XFL so entertaining?

Different rules.

XFL: No no fair catch on a punt. In the NFL the guy who catches the punt can't be tackled. In the XFL, don't catch the ball if you don't want to get hit.

You only need to have 1 foot in bounds to catch the ball.

There is no "kick for extra point" (which basically makes the extra point automatic). You have to actually run the ball or pass it into the touchdown for the extra point.

There's no coin toss... a player from each team actually charges at the ball and whoever gets it wins choice of kick or receive for his team.

Overtime rules are cool too... each team plays the ball from the 20 yard line. The first team has 4 downs to score, and they can't kick a field goal until 4th down. If the first team scores in say, 2 downs, then the opposing team gets a chance to score from the 20 yard line, but they only have 2 downs to do it. (That's what happened tonight.)

Those are just a few of the rules. You should really watch a game or two on TV to check it out. Las Vegas has a team, so when you move there you might catch a game or two... although your team kinda sucks... sorry. =(

That game kicked ass. Too bad my team lost. Bad enought da bears can't put nothing together. Vegas oddsmakers had the extreme ranked number one and the enforcers ranked last when the season started. Good fucking game though. Avery is awesome, I think some NFL teams will be looking at him next year if he keeps this pace up.

Yeah! And he still held on to the damn thing. Did you see the guy who got flipped over? One flipping happened after a punt reception and the other occured after the touchdown. Both held on to the ball for dear life.

Actually, I think I'm missing the game right now. Must turn on tv!

XFL's ratings went from FIRST last week, to Dead LAST this week, so the future does not look promising.

I agree JR/Jesse are a good team. The game was fun, They need to be able to market players for more then "They play for the love of the Game not money" Yeah that was cool for the first game, now they need to make some heros out of some of them inorder to keep interest their

Their ratings went from 10.3 to about a 5. Like Vince McMahon said, "As long as we stay between 3.0 and 5.0, we're gold". They are doing just fine and advertisers were told to expect about a 4.0 rating on average. Previously the Saturday night movies for NBC was pulling around a 4.0 and the NBA Saturday night games were getting less than a 4.0 on the neilsen ratings. Everyone knew the initial rating would be high because everyone was tuning in out of curiosity. The Parent Trap came in first with an 8.0 or something close to that.

I like the XFL, just hard to follow the games for me cuz they are on while I am busy but I love the action!
The play quality has gotten better in the past week as well as coverage of the game.
I am glad that there is some football to watch now that is for sure.
