I read the book (read all of his) - and saw the movie. Don't recall liking the movie, but at the time (7th grdae or so) I enjoyed the book.
I belive the main character, or at least the main killer in it, is a body builder and he even goes so far as to stregnthen his jaw by chewing on various hard rubber balls to develop his jaw strenght and then uses that when he attacks people.

The movie your looking for is manhunter. It is based on red dragon. Hannibal Lector is played by Brian Cox and he isnt in it much. The movie was directed by Michael Mann from Miami Vice fame so it has that kind of feel to it. Not a bad movie for a 2 buck rental.

I saw Manhunter when it first came out.

Fantastic movie and I thought great things for William Petersen. Then To Live and Dies in L.A.

I think a great actor has been overlooked

Saw "Hannibal" today with my best friend. Pretty fun movie and Hannibal has some very funny lines. When he says "okie dokie" just before he murders the detective, I couldn't stop laughing for five minutes.

The movie was very dark and has a much different tone than the first movie. But, Julianne Moore was just as good as Jodie Foster might have been. As for Hannibal himself, I kind of liked him more in this movie.

Great ending by the way, much better than the book!

The Killer in Red Dragon (Can't remember his name) is a body builder and Hannibal only plays a minor part in the book.
I have'nt seen Hannibal yet, but the book is awesome.
Later guys.
