Hey bros, I am getting pissed trying to find a good track cutter. You know like when you download a 75 minute full-length cd off Napster......any answers?

mp3 is compressed audio, so you need to uncompress it to... well a straight wav file would work. then dump that into an editor and cut it where you want it and then recompress those three into 3 separate mp3s.

I have some pretty good audio software here if you want to give me access to the mp3, I'll edit it for you - but I don't know the spots that you want it....

Thanks Scrappy. How do I give you access to these Mp3s? Could I just buy the program you use, or is it a big $$ program? I have a program called Studio Pro, but I uninstalled it, and now I need a registration # to re-install it. Kinda sucks. I also have a prgram called Goldwave. I seriously get pissed when I use this thing because it is frickin confusing. Let me know on these things, and I will be in touch. Thanks again.

you could mail me the file - but it is likely too big for my free accounts and I don't want to give out my regular e-mail.
you need to either setup an ftp server and give me the site, or put it up on a website somewhere.

there are programs out there to convert an mp3 file to a wav (look on winamp.com they will have links) - this will result in big files (uncompressed).
then open that up in your editor (Goldwave should do just fine - and I agree, it has an annoying interface) - then cut out the chunks you want. then reconvert those to mp3s with whatever program you like.

some of the stuff out there now lets you do all this on the fly if you have enough memory, but those are all expensive programs.
